As promised, a further update on fancams, their links to established media such as TalkSport, the connivance of supposedly 'proper' journalists in their cretinous output, and the involvement of grasping members of football's Twatocracy...
Last Thurs @UnitedStandMUFC's 'rantsnbants' was invited on TalkSport to discuss the growing hostility to fancams. Quite a coup for a barely-literate moron to be given such a stage - if you ignore all the corporate links between TalkSport and fancam world:
@UnitedStandMUFC We've previously pointed out 'rants' is basically a Murdoch puppet, whilst TalkSport is also owned by NewsCorp. Hence they were happy to grant fancams what was basically a 15min advert-cum-puff piece, dressed up as an 'attack' on TalkSport's Simon Jordan: talksport.com/radio/listen-a…
@UnitedStandMUFC TalkSport are quite happy to air the same lowest-common-denominator, 'controversial' moronities from fancam 'personalities', especially when a load of their old staff have their fingerprints all over it. Take 'Ball Street' run by Matt Wilson, ex-TalkSport: thedrum.com/news/2017/06/1…
@UnitedStandMUFC Also involved in Ball Street is ex-footballer Ian Wright - another former TalkSport employee: productionbase.co.uk/profile/504905…
@UnitedStandMUFC Being in their little fancam/influencer corporate world comes with some dubious, er, perks - usually the opening of any envelope in Central London. Or, just before Christmas, the horrendous-sounding, tw@t-infested 'Wrighty's House' event:
@UnitedStandMUFC It also leads to bogus 'awards' ceremonies, such as the Football Blogging Awards, which is basically a circle jerk of these snakeoil salesman, run as a private business by (presumably) a Bertie from @snackmedia called Anthony Cooper: footballbloggingawards.co.uk/blog/highlight…
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Claiming "over 30m fans" @snackmedia "specialise in multi-channel content creation" making “authentic connections between brands & fans".
Their client list contains all the usual suspects, including multiple online bookmakers: snack-media.com
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia The way all this would appear to operate can be demonstrated by a footballer called Marvin Morgan (no, us neither) desperately networking his way round the last Blogging Awards gig to promote his new clothing line called Fresh Ego Kid.

A few weeks later:

freshegokid.com/blogs/news/fre…
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Unsurprisingly wanting in on the action: Rio Ferdinand. No doubt desperate to promote his flailing '5' brand, he's appeared with youtubers "Vuj and Poet", as well as popping up numerous times on the utter brainrot produced by morons called 'Cheeky Sports'
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Then there was his in-no-way-staged, someone-in-the-car-just-happened-to-be-filming-honest! interaction with @UnitedStandMUFC earlier this season:
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Now, many people wouldn't think all of this really leads anywhere, but take a look at this page on the personal website(!) of one Stephen Howson - a dishonest, grasping golddigger who would struggle to win a battle of wits with an amoeba. stephenhowson.com/about-3/
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Not only is these fancams' cretinous, race-to-the-bottom 'punditry' infesting football and the internet, it's now being force-fed to consumers of traditionally respectable media: bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia The Telegraph ran an insightful piece on this yesterday, detailing the BBC's imbecilic self-sabotaging as it chases audiences of morons who are already more than adequately catered for elsewhere. (Note the name of Nick not-very Bright popping up again): telegraph.co.uk/sport/2020/01/…
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia Professional journalists queued up to bemoan Radio Five's decision to ditch @markpougatch in favour of cheap fancammers, but many (like @oliverkay & @lauriewhitwell) are complicit in their rise, having leant these 'bantz' merchants mainstream credibility: stephenhowson.com/podcast/the-wo…
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia @markpougatch @OliverKay @lauriewhitwell Corporate involvement in fancams runs on every level, it could hardly be further away from the image they portray of a simple fan with a camera seeking other fans' opinions.

It might not be so bad if this wasn't the level of their 'insight' and punditry:
@UnitedStandMUFC @snackmedia @markpougatch @OliverKay @lauriewhitwell Coming next: we shoot down @UnitedStandMUFC's denials of corporate links, prove the intention was to target+exploit African viewers, reveal that presenters are trained and censored by their corporate handlers, and show this is now Goldbridge's fulltime job
@UnitedStandMUFC Slight correction: this Ian Wright is not the ex-footballer Ian Wright - he appears in the next tweet. Both ian Wrights are ex-TalkSport however.
