Welcome to #Mumbai @atherenergy!
Finally a test ride after years of wait; yes, following you folks since 2015 :)

Can’t wait for 28th Jan for the #Ather 450X!

Best wishes to everyone for the launch!

I’ve enough to drag me for next 10 days 😃😅
@atherenergy As a EV rider since 2015, here's my take on Ather 450 after today's test ride. My first EV scooter was Hero Electric Photon. And currently own the Ampere Reo.
@atherenergy Photon was victim of deadly rat infestation which damaged its controller and batteries to a point that getting the Reo in exchange was better option.
@atherenergy 1. Every particle on the Ather 450 has a story as to why it is that way. There's not a thing which looks out of place.
@atherenergy 2. Great ride quality. Speed breakers, potholes, broken paverblocks - Ather doesn't hurt your back. Too early to say, but saying based experience with my two EV's.
@atherenergy 3. Sound: Its not super silent but the belt drive produces sweet sound. The sound of regeneration is at right levels as well. In short, people should expect the Ather coming behind them on the road. You need not honk unnecessarily just to let people know about approaching EV.
@atherenergy 4. Reverse mode: This is something which we would think is unnecessary. But one will appreciate it after using it. Will surely help to roll out of tight spots with ease.
@atherenergy 5. Killswitch: We need to be very careful while stationary on an EV. Friends have a habit of walking and turning the accelerator since they think scooter's off. The killswitch keeps the dashboard and electronics on but the motor off. Very useful while stationary.
@atherenergy 6. Bootspace: The 22L bootspace is very useful and should easily hold the helmet, a raincoat/jacket and mandatory documents. A sturdy hook at the footboard will be very useful to hold some bags while doing quick shopping.
@atherenergy 7. The side stand: The side stand has a sexy mechanism while it opens and closes. The joints of the stand are purely greatest work of art and engineering.
@atherenergy 8. The center stand: Yes, its missing. I was sceptical as well after reading it on Twitter. My thoughts were that the scooter would fall other way. However, after seeing it myself, I really don't see the need for the center stand.
@atherenergy The curve at which the 450 stays on side stand and its weight, its quite difficult to tip it off; unless the miscreants want to do it on purpose.
@atherenergy 9. Wiring: Cost of ownership of EV is negligible(compared to IC vehicle) till a rat damages the wiring. Ather looks decently sealed up as compared to Photon & Reo. However, there are still some wires visible. Wondering how effective will the Ather be at handling the rat menace.
@atherenergy Can't wait for 28th Jan 2020 to see what the 450X is!
