Jerry Kammer's op-ed in Thursday's @nytimes calling for restriction on immigration as a “liberal” is nothing but camouflaged white nationalism.

How could they fall for it? Well, Kammer is part of the #TantonNetwork and fooling people is what they do.

That they fell for publishing this drivel days before the #WomensMarch and #MartinLutherKingJrDay shows how pervasively the white nationalist movement has infiltrated both our government and our immigration discourse.
The #TantonNetwork can't say they want to enhance inequality. So they camouflage, adopting arguments of economic justice (who will protect American workers?), environmental justice (we must have (certain) population(s) controlled), and the old go-to: appeals to law and order.
Kammer's employer, @CIS_org and its sister Tanton-founded orgs @FAIRImmigration @NumbersUSA, @IRLILaw and others have infiltrated our government and our discourse.

They were founded to create fear by Dr. John Tanton, an white nationalist and eugenicist.

Their camouflage was both their strength (a purpose of camouflage is infiltration, after all) and their Achilles' heel. The network has been formulating these policies for 40+ years. Why else does this White House always seem to have a new evil to inflict on future citizens?
We must ask ourselves: “Where did these horrific immigration policies come from?” This is why I sued to break the seal on the private papers of the late Dr. Tanton, locked away at the University of Michigan until 2035.

We need answers now.

They've got us asking whether immigration is good or not. Whether people can be reduced to line items on a balance sheet. Whether Dreamers are really American or not. Whether seeking asylum is a basic human right.

Take a step back and consider how asinine these inquiries are.
It matters not what Kammer calls himself. What does matter is that it's part of his camouflage: that one can be liberal and still agree with white nationalists that immigration must be tightly controlled to maintain order.

Sorry, no.
The Rev. #MartinLutherKingJr warned us about the so-called white moderate in Letter from a Birmingham Jail in 1963, “who is more devoted to 'order' than to justice."

"...who constantly says: 'I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action'; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom.”
Kammer doesn't get to pontificate about law and order when the policies pushed by his org have long ripped up families, sent people fleeing persecution to their deaths, and made a mockery of due process of law.

You don't get to dictate the freedom of future citizens.
