Three problems with @nytimes co-endorsement. First, like the rest of national media they have been trying to will @amyklobuchar campaign into existence. She’s never polled above 5%. They note mournfully other moderates were also not popular but learn no lesson from that. 1/3
.@nytimes calls @BernieSanders divisive & compares him to Trump. Then worries about his electability. Let’s note Trump won. Populism works but the elites hate it. More importantly, Bernie’s whole point is to bring people together, saying otherwise is comically counterfactual. 2/3
Main mistake of @nytimes is their absurd insistence bipartisan change is possible. That’s embarrassingly naive political analysis. @GOP is 100% hooked on donor money, any compromise with them means by definition change will be tiny, useless & largely beneficial to donor class.
