Withdrawal agreement bill passes House of Lords with amendments - text of those amendments here: publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/lbill…
In case some folks get this wrong: the Lords amendments to the withdrawal agreement bill do not 'block Brexit'. The Lords have only amended the bill, not voted it down; and voting down the bill would not stop Brexit anyway.
The Lords is not merely advisory - the bill has to pass both Houses of parliament in the same form. Commons would have to wait a year to overrule Lords. But since blocking the bill to try to get its way on amendments would lead to a no deal Brexit, the Lords may back down.
Government wants House of Commons to reject all House of Lords amendments to the withdrawal agreement bill
Very good explanation of both the Lords amendments to the withdrawal agreement bill, and the next steps in the parliamentary process
As explained above in the thread, characterising the Lords votes as "Remainer" is highly misleading: the Lords amendments don't aim to stop Brexit, and couldn't do so if they tried
The Commons has disagreed with all the Lords amendments to the withdrawal agreement bill: EU citizens, negotiations on child asylum seekers, courts and devolution. Up to the Lords to decide whether to agree
House of Lords will not insist on its amendments to the withdrawal agreement bill - so it is likely to receive royal assent soon, after which the UK will formally ratify the agreement
Focus is now on the European Parliament - where the large majority of committees are recommending consent to the withdrawal agreement:
Verhofstadt committee votes on the agreement tomorrow; plenary EP votes on 29th.
