Seems to me to be it is definitionally annexation — “a formal act whereby a state proclaims its sovereignty over territory hitherto outside its domain.“ nytimes.com/2020/01/28/wor…

Mark Warner, the ranking member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, asks the House Members whether they have additional information about, I think I heard, “Russia disseminating conspiracy theories” that the Senate should consider.
Schiff says yes there’s more information and they should figure out how to get it to the Senators. So... that’s out there.
For those wondering what that might be all about, think back to this November story saying senators had been briefed by intel agencies on what Fiona Hill said publicly—Russia was responsible for spreading the crowdstrike conspiracy. nytimes.com/2019/11/22/us/…

Everyone perks up for the Collins/Murkowski question
Philbin is unable to provide the example that Collins and Murkowski sought of any instance of President Trump’s interest in the Bidens/Ukraine that predated the announcement of Biden’s presidential campaign.
Philbin did say he is limited by the record, again implicitly making the case to open up the record to more evidence.

1. Thread on the European Parliament elections. The party level results are complicated enough that everyone will be arguing about them for weeks - especially if there are (as there likely will be) moves from one parliamentary grouping to another.
2. There seems to be a shift to Greens and a mobilization around climate action. The other structural story is the surge in turnout. politico.eu/article/eu-ele… More people are turning out (over 50%) than in decades. This _may_ mark a significant turning point in European politics.
3. The big problem for the European Parliament for decades has been that nobody much cared who got elected to it. In the professional language of political scientists, European Parliament elections were "second order elections." That is, many people didn't bother to vote.

I'm chasing a particularly nasty patching bug in wharf (the tech behind @itchio's butler), I'm going to try and explain it here for your entertainment.
@itchio Let's start with a simple case.

We always have an "old version" and a "new version". Those are folders, they can contain any number of files.

The simplest case is where nothing changed - the only file "z", is still there, and has the same content (colors)
@itchio A transposition from a file to itself is a simple copy when we patch to another folder, and a no-op when we patch in-place. We'll only consider in-place patching going forward.

If the file was renamed, it's still a transposition. It ends up being a file move.

They were NEIGHBORS in Chappaqua in 2000, and there is even a possibility that the McCabes helped Hillary's 2000 Senate bid. That seems to be what email and election investigators care about.
