Facebook offered this incoherent defense of Williams' 12 years at Fox & Friends: 
Let's take each of these arguments in turn. First, Facebook suggests that Williams' Fox & Friends work is fine because it "occurred before Trump was president." Does Facebook really want to argue that Fox & Friends used to be a credible news show? Because it wasn't.
As I noted yesterday and as Judd chronicles, Fox & Friends during Williams' tenure featured a mishmash of conspiracy theories and credulous recitations of reports from fringe websites. Exactly what you want from someone curating Facebook News, right?
Facebook's second argument is that Williams more recently "worked with Fox News' daytime talent, including Gretchen Carlson and Dana Perino." In other words, she ran the "news side" shows of a former Fox & Friends co-host and Bush's press secretary. Not great!
