If Adam Schiff had actually lied about the things Donald Trump routinely claims he did, Schiff would already have been metaphorically nailed to a wall.

He'll sit there, Trump will, and say that the Democrats lied and cheated and they're the real criminals, while his tame justice department, his goon squad, does nothing because the law still requires more than the liar-in-chief's say so, thank goodness.
He won't actually go after Schiff in any real way until the day comes that he's feeling himself enough to decide the law isn't the law anymore. There may be threats and trial balloons along the way, but nothing even as simple as a lawsuit before then.
And that's the tell, I hope, for anyone in the middle who hasn't been able to follow all of this but who sees Schiff laying out his case in the House and the Senate and Donald saying Schiff is a liar: Schiff backed his accusations up in court. Many Republicans agreed, factually.
