Today CST has released our 2019 Antisemitic Incidents Report which shows a record high of 1,805 antisemitic incidents last year, a 7% increase from the 1,690 incidents in 2018 cst.org.uk/news/blog/2020… /1 
2019 was the fourth year in a row that saw a record number of antisemitic incidents reported to CST & the second year in a row with over 100 incidents every month /2
The single biggest factor in this increase was an 82% rise in online antisemitic incidents reported to CST, from 384 in 2018 to 697 in 2019. Most of these were on social media /3
The highest monthly totals were in December & February, when the issue of antisemitism in the Labour Party was prominent in the news. In 2019 CST logged 224 antisemitic incidents in which the offenders or the language they used were related to this issue /4
Conspiracy theories about alleged Jewish power & influence were used in 370 of the 1,805 antisemitic incidents recorded in 2019, more than any other single type of political discourse /5
CST recorded 158 violent antisemitic assaults in 2019 (combining categories of Assault & Extreme Violence), an increase of 25% from 2018 and the highest number of violent incidents CST has ever recorded /6
Almost two thirds of the 1,805 antisemitic incidents in 2019 were recorded in Greater London & Greater Manchester, but there was an increase in the number & proportion of incidents from elsewhere in the UK /7
This increase in incidents recorded outside London and Manchester is probably due to the growth in online incidents & improved data sharing between CST and Police /8
As well as the 1,805 antisemitic incidents recorded by CST in 2019, a further 566 potential incidents were not included as they did not show evidence of antisemitic motivation, language or targeting /9
