Half my neighbors lost their homes in 2 catastrophic floods in 2 yrs. Friends have lost everything (houses, land, animals, businesses) except mortgages & debt. Looked at projected #ClimateChange flood map yesterday & cried. Our friend Markus w/ The Star: projects.thestar.com/climate-change…

After we were allowed back in, we set up a flood "lost & found" fb page. Delberta Flood (I kid you not) made 1 of 1st posts: She found a cottage. It had floated across the province's largest lake.

The #Jesus Movement was a #Jewish movement. When Rome arrested Jesus for treason, he named his brother James & his best friend Peter as its new leaders. Paul never met Jesus, & he had a very different take on Jesus's teachings than the people who'd known & followed him.
Paul visited Jesus Movement leaders in Jerusalem. It didn't go well. Paul hit the road, taking a Jewish movement far outside the bounds of Judea.

Always appeal insurance denials: they deny things knowing % won't appeal. I know this because whistleblower @WendellPotter is 1 of my #Healthcare Heroes. content.time.com/time/politics/…
I'm badly battered by multiple insurance appeals, but "won" them all. Tips: 1) Partner up, esp if you're sick. You can hand the phone to anyone you want. But if you want someone to be able to call in your place, ask company to send you form so you can designate a spokesperson.
2) Tweet or Fb-post your complaint to your insurer: "I get @Aetna insurance thru work & they just denied coverage of the med that lets me work," for ex. The customer service reps who respond to social media are BETTER than the ones who answer the phone, & you're not on hold.

This is a ludicrous way to confront #ClimateChange. An organization like @foe_us that claims to treat #climate change as an existential crisis CANNOT be taken seriously while simultaneously counseling us to ignore virtually all low-carbon resources except wind & solar.
Proposition: Anyone who says climate change is a crisis & then says we should tie 1 (or 2) hands behind our backs by setting aside a raft of low-CO2 options, including virtually all crucial firm resources (see bit.ly/FirmLowCarbon) should be treated as non-serious & ignored.
