Today in one of the worst miscarriages of justice ever seen, Judge Hennelly reversed the Dec 18, 2018 ruling to vacate Gerald Reed’s conviction & sent him back to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence.

Gerald Reed was tortures so severely that CPD broke a metal rod in his leg causing him to now be in a wheelchair. In 2012 the Torture Inquiri Relief Commission unanimously found a preponderance evidence of torture, a rare ruling enabling Gerald to get an evidentiary hearing.
It took five years for the courts to grant Gerald an evidentiary hearing which occurred in 2018 under Jidge Gainor’s court who ruled in support of the TIRC ruling and vacated Gerald’s conviction on Dec 18, 2018. Judge Gainor then retired on Dec 31, 2018.
On January 1, another judge was assigned to handle bond, judge Hennelly and a motion for a new trial. Hennelly refused to grant bond to Reed for 14 months who has been in Cook County Jail without conviction and today ruled to return Gerald to prison and overturned Gainor’s ruling
So Gerald Reed, has two rulings that determined he was tortured by CPD and one ruling that vacated his conviction is now in his way back to Stateville Maximum Security Prison. Why? Because Judge Hennelly used to work under Bob Milan, the special prosecutor representing the state.
Bob Milan used to work in the states attorneys office under Daley, the very office that was ruled complicit in the cover up of CPD torture under Jon Burge. Bob Milan was barred from litigating any torture cases until this because he was found complicit in the coverup...till now.
Let us say it again. Judge Hennelly worked under Bob Milan when he was an assistant states attorney during the years when the courts deemed the office coveruped decades of CPD torture. This very judge and special prosecutor should be barred from involvement in any torture cases.
