I made a polite comment last night disagreeing w B*rnie's tweet on an influencer's thread.
Here's what I saw:
- Immediate & loud response - by many accounts > this was weird, because really I don't get much action
more>
- The immediacy of the response was striking
- The loud responses were real people - not bots.
- It was so weird, I did some clicking
<more>
- With the exception of one person, I saw a pattern.
- The accounts pre-dated the '16 election
- The accounts had about 200 followers and following
- With the exception of a few personalities, we had no mutual connections
- The accounts only had abt 1K tweets
more>>
- The accts had no activity until the day after the mid term or summer '19
- Their first tweet? ALWAYS really weird
Their content? There was a pattern there too:
- Mostly RT, very little orig tweets, lots of replies
- EXCEPT for doing a "My B*rnie Story" hashtag

The other weird thing?
One acct RT me with a comment. He didn't just reply to me - he RT me.
The other weird thing?
His friends didn't reply to his RT, they went to my orig tweet and engaged me there - on the influencer's feed.

So..... what does this mean IMO?
- Suspect accounts.
- Sleeper accounts coming to life (in the last 9-18 mo).
- Coordination.
- Real people, not bots.
This is what we're facing. It's a different kind of active measure from '16 & it's not easy to spot.
