In reality: Americans had immediate access to best care in the world while Soviets had to bribe your way to see a doctor in any reasonable amount of time.

But those living in the USSR had no idea what they were missing out on. They thought bribing doctors to come to your house was the norm and Americans were suffering.

The thing about socialism is you get the financial ruin (just evenly distributed) and you get shitty healthcare. In America, you get the best healthcare in the world, but it’s sometimes exceedingly expensive. Imagine knowing that and still choosing the former.
Also, I love the lectures about socialism and communism from people who never experienced it. My family (w me) barely escaped that hellhole and lived it. We know exactly what Sanders is offering, and there is no way I’ll be silent about attempts to bring that misery here.
