Many of you already know this, but the spread of COVID19 in the US has been mirroring that of the spread in Italy, except we're about 10 days behind them.
Obviously we all hope for the best for Italy and also hope US doesn’t follow its tragic path. Here’s more on why some here are concerned about the similar patterns:

Latest advice from CDC:

* Work or engage in schooling at home if possible.

* Avoid social gatherings of 10 or more people.

* Avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants or food courts.

* If you are an older American, stay home and avoid others

Thread on important issue Rep. @DWStweets is trying to bring attention to about cruise ship passengers NOT being notified about potential exposure to COVID19.

1/
2/ Port Everglades is the 3rd largest cruise port in the world.

@DWStweets says there are currently FOUR Port Everglades employees all who work for Metro Cruises (the contract company whose employees help passengers disembark ships) who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
3/ One those employees traveled on a Princess cruise ship; the CDC -- after days of pushing by @DWStweets -- finally had passengers notified on that one Princess cruise ship that a Metro Cruise employee had tested positive.

An old friend of mine is a doctor in the Midwest. She also heads up her county’s board of health.

Tonight, she met for 2 hours with colleagues at the local hospital to discuss contingencies as the #COVIDー19 pandemic escalates.

What she described knocked the wind out of me:
“Imagine 6 women, most of them moms, sitting around a table. One nursing a baby. All healthcare providers, making plans. Setting fear aside."

"We discussed things like what do we do when we we run out of hospital beds? Where can we put patients?"
"How do we have enough morphine so that when people are dying and we can't do anything for them, we can at least make them comfortable? How do we make an objective decision on who gets a ventilator and who doesn't, knowing we have only two?"

I am doing the right thing to report myself to a airport medic now

2/ taken to a room for temperature test no fever
went through a question list 4 symptom history，if i met anyone from high risk country China italy
i told them i was in Prague 4 film festival & met many people around world.
but seems they are about letting me go.
3/ airport medicals are calling authority to ask about my measurement，go home or stay for test maybe…
seems phones got difficulty to go through…
personally i wish to stay and have test asap.
but i need to respect their decision.

I did read a suggestion today that Obamacare covered Federally mandated screening tests. But I think there are still insurance deductibles. I hope @GTCost might be able to confirm?

But what if you then have to be admitted? What will that cost in deductibles?

Why the Italian populist government has basically collapsed, why Salvini (League) & Di Maio (5 Star Movement) were destined to break up and why the next general election will be decisive for the future of #Italy - and Europe.

A short thread (like when I used to work in Italy😊)
1. First of all, I was one of the very first commentators in Italy predicting a coalition between Di Maio and Salvini despite it sounded absurd then, getting many critics for that.()

So, when I say it was destined to break up, it's for a different reason.
2. Secondly, to be clear, the high speed railway TAV dispute (in some way similar to the British HS2) is just the tipping point of longstanding crisis between the two coalition parties. TAV surely sparked the ultimate crisis but Salvini and Di Maio were incompatible on much more.
