Thread on important issue Rep. @DWStweets is trying to bring attention to about cruise ship passengers NOT being notified about potential exposure to COVID19.

1/
2/ Port Everglades is the 3rd largest cruise port in the world.

@DWStweets says there are currently FOUR Port Everglades employees all who work for Metro Cruises (the contract company whose employees help passengers disembark ships) who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
3/ One those employees traveled on a Princess cruise ship; the CDC -- after days of pushing by @DWStweets -- finally had passengers notified on that one Princess cruise ship that a Metro Cruise employee had tested positive.
4/ But @DWStweets says NONE of the passengers on the other 6-8 ships these infected Port Everglades employees worked to disembark have been notified about their likely/potential exposure.

CDC says by explanation that those passengers are considered low risk.
5/ That may be but CDC had not even notified the passengers on the ship they now acknowledge were high risk, until Wasserman-Schultz pushed them to do so

6/ Yesterday, a cruise ship came into Port Miami, (the #1 cruise port in the world) that had a passenger with COVID-19 taken off the ship.

@DWStweets says when the cruise came into port, the passengers were given no instructions, no check, nothing.
7/ This is an area where the cruise industry and CDC obviously need to improve communication with individuals who have possibly been in contact with COVID-19 carriers.
8/ "We need to give instructions to the thousands of cruise passengers likely exposed to coronavirus and not just send them across the country to likely expose other people," @DWStweets told me.
