The coronavirus outbreak is the most serious public health crisis we have faced in a generation - more than ever at times like this we need one another.

Across the country people are pulling together - here are stories giving me hope and some ways to help: [THREAD]
1. The generous students at Bryn Tawe school donated food to their local food bank on their last day:
2. The @TrussellTrust run food banks across the country all through the year - and their work has never been more important than now. You can donate here: trusselltrust.org/make-a-donatio…
3. The charity @LittleVillageHQ are providing free baby clothes, nappies and essentials for families in need and are currently appealing for donations:

4. Businesses are also stepping up all over the country, for example, Brew Dog have converted their distillery in Aberdeenshire to manufacture hand sanitiser and are giving them away free to those in need:
5. Individuals are doing brilliant things too - Becky Wass has created a postcard to help people who are self-isolating:

6. Pupils at Northwick Manor School in Worcester have been emailing care home residents to help combat loneliness:

7. We can help ensure the @womensaid Live Chat is available for those experiencing domestic violence during household isolation by donating here: womensaid.org.uk/urgent-appeal/
8. Iceland's Kennedy Centre store in West Belfast was the first retailer to allow elderly shoppers into the store an hour early to have access to groceries - with many more now following their lead:

9. @age_uk’s services have never been more in demand and they desperately need our support:

10. And finally, the digital team from my own campaign have been spending their evenings creating a new tool to help communities across the UK, connecting isolated people with teams of local volunteers. CovidCall.org
I know the coming weeks seem daunting but stories like this provide a ray of hope. Please share with us any other stories you have come across and ways we can support one another. #covid19
