David independently came to an idea @DellAnnaLuca and I have also discussed: look for visible spikes in all-cause mortality.
Because COVID19 is causing undiagnosed deaths. But deaths are usually recorded. So look for spikes in deaths.

As I think about it, there are privacy issues, but Facebook might also roll out self-diagnosis and death reporting by next-of-kin. There will be noise, but it has the scale to provide consistent international stats as a complement to national governments.
