China reports having 1,541 asymptomatic coronavirus cases as of March 30. The country will begin reporting this figure starting April 1, says the National Health Commission. @business
The exclusion from official data of people infected but without symptoms has come up repeatedly since the coronavirus emerged in Wuhan. Authorities there and elsewhere are still finding such cases, even as the growth in confirmed new cases has slowed rapidly.
That’s raised the question of whether the outbreak is truly under control. South Korea, Japan and Singapore are among countries which count all positive tests in their official tallies of cases, regardless of whether the people have symptoms such as a fever or a cough.

It's a murky situation. Nothing known for sure yet. Note difference between in vitro & in vivo
2/ There are a great many efforts to find medications useful in treatment of severe #COVID19; the ones named here are only some of the ones currently being tried or in formal trials. Note the attempt with protease inhibitors (Kaletra) too.

3/ There is a good deal of enthusiasm among some medicos & researchers for the use of chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine against #COVID19; caution: in vitro efficacy does not necessarily mean in vivo efficacy. Odd things can happen in vivo.

CDC claims after they distributed CDC rRT-PCR tests to diagnose COVID-19 to state & local labs, performance issues were identified related to problem in manufacturing 1 of reagents. Labs couldn't verify test performance

CDC now claims they developed new protocol using 2 of the 3 components of original CDC test kit to detect the virus that causes COVID-19 after establishing 3rd component, which was a problem w/ original test, can be excluded without affecting accuracy.

I see 4 reagents. 🧐
CDC is working with FDA to amend existing Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the test, but FDA granted discretionary authority for use of original test kits.
Public laboratories can use original CDC test kit to test for the virus that causes COVID-19 using new protocol.

This thread (now 22 days old) is hard to understand, but I think (with reading other sources) I have figured out what it means.

Bottom line: the FDA is going to kill us all.
Normally, doctors and labs can't just do any kind of test they want. They can only use tests that have passed the FDA's requirements to ensure safety and efficacy. This takes years.

However, there are two exceptions that are relevant now.
The first is Lab Developed Tests. LDTs are theoretically under the FDA's purview, but they've chosen not to do anything about them (although they've been reconsidering that decision recently).

Hence, LDTs don't require the FDA's approval. Labs can do what they want.

His group is presenting a calm clear attitude.

Remember Biden and dems wanted to keep the borders open, called Trump's actions xenophobic.
Vaccine is ahead of schedule. No glitches. Says that if all goes well should be in human clinical trials within the next 2 and half months.
