Sunday's #Coronavrus thread starts with developments in the #USA
Fewer testing centres open, fewer labs analysing results and fewer people wanting to be tested over the long holiday weekend, so as expected the drop in #Covid19 infections continues.
143,373 new cases, down 32k
There were signs the #Covid19 case load in #USA was about to naturally lower before Thanksgiving, so whether infections bounce back to previous levels remains to be seen.
Now a new worry as another mink outbreak is discovered in #Oregon
#Georgia (990) is within a hair's breadth of reaching an infection rate of 1,000 AD/M. That's 1 in every 1,000 of the population being infected EVERY day, within 3 weeks more than 2% of the entire population catching #Covid19
Today another near 10% climb to 4,425 new infections
#Hungary - we didn't even have to wait until Monday.
The country's 13 day old record is broken today with 6,819 cases of #Covid19 - up more than 50% on seven days ago.
As Sunday is usually a little lower this seems to signify a major outbreak despite the restrictions in place.
For the first time in 13 days #Lithuania sees a real fall in its' infection rate.
1,976 new cases of #Covid19 today, down from 2,307 last Sunday.
#Estonia is up slightly 355 vs 349 #Latvia also up, but not by too much: 414 vs 376
Both #Russia and its neighbour #Belarus publish daily updates with new #Covid19 cases just under the national record.
Russia with 26,683, down 400 from yesterday
Belarus 1,684 just 7 off the record. Oh and of course Minsk keeps the daily death figure within the 6 to 9 parameters
A sizeable drop in Europe's most infected nation*
#Croatia registers 2,919 new cases of #Covid19 today, a 12% fall compared to last Sunday. The infection rate dips below 800 AD/M
322 new #Covid19 infections today - that's virtually a quarter wiped off last Sunday's total. However, weekly comparisons are not quite as good a guide as in other nations so more data needed yet.
#Austria also sees a fall by almost 25% today compared to a week ago
Austria peaked on 13 Nov at 828 AD/M. The infection rate now is 516
#Poland beware. While cases are falling, I've pointed out that testing's fallen off a cliff too. This leaves a nation open to new outbreaks
Today only 11,483 new #Covid19 cases way down from 18,467 last Sun
But compare testing 42.8k last Sun, 24.6k today
Positive test rate is UP
Another 23% rise in new #Covid19 cases for #Serbia, which is very close to being crowned most infected country in Europe.
6,179 new infections up from 4,995 last Sunday.
The rate of increase has slowed but Tues perhaps, and certainly Weds expected to bring new records.
#Netherlands - yesterday it looked good with a decent fall in new cases.
Today a worrying rise, albeit smaller, of 200 #Covid19 infections
5,585 is today's number - it's probably better to take the average of the two days which shows NL is still heading down, but work to be done
#UK enjoys a very big fall in new cases of #Covid19 this evening
Infections were 18,662 last Sunday, while today a drop of over a third to 12,155
215 new deaths in the past 24 hours
Another worrying sign for #Denmark - following yesterday's surprising record, the theme is continued.
Sundays are usually low, but today's 998 new #Covid19 infections is over 15% up on this time last week.
#Albania has been pushing back against #Covid19 with a succession of good days.
But suddenly today a huge surge - more than 50% up on last Sunday, and 835 new infections is just one short of the record. This may be an anomaly due to yesterday being Albania's National Day.
#Italy and #Greece continuing falling infection rates too, but still high deaths
Italy has 20,648 new cases of #Covid19 down almost 8,000
Greece 1,193 new infections, a fall of over 300 or 20%
However 98 deaths in Greece and 541 in Italy
I don't know the Turkish for "Glasnost" but it seems appropriate following the country's Mea Culpe over the manipulation of #Covid19 figures until this week.
Another 29,281 "new" cases in #Turkey today and 185 deaths.
A smaller drop for #Ireland today, but still heading down.
299 new cases of #Covid19, a reduction of just 19 from last Sunday.
#Iceland has recently got its infection rate under the Irish rate, but both countries can be proud of their efforts to combat #Coronavirus

Across #Belarus another Sunday protest march, and more inhumane actions from the regime. Here a guy, seemingly unconscious is hauled away, his head almost on the snowy ground, to be dumped next to an unmarked police van
Monday's #Coronavirus thread starts here, as we hope Europe continues to make progress against the spread of #Covid19.
All the news as it happens throughout the day but I'll particularly be watching two things
Countries heading back up again
Deaths falling 10-14 days after peak
#USA continues to surge - initial figures for Sunday not yet in (this total always increases anyway when regions which didn't report over the weekend add their data)
But one big headline came from #Florida, where the Sunshine State went back over 10,000 #Covid19 cases in a day
..it's the first time since July #Florida hit 10k, and for the last 3 months FLA has not even touched 7,000
Today #USA should experience a total of between 158,000 and 180,000 cases as it edges towards 200k in the coming days. I'm predicting 172,000 by the end of the day
In #Belarus today the usual Sunday protests, but things are sinking to a new low.
Many people have come to a provincial neighbourhood of #Minsk to pay tribute to, protest against, the brutal murder of Roman Bondarenko by police
The regime turns the memorial site into a war zone
#Belarus
Meanwhile, nearby on Pushkinskaya in central #Minsk, another attack on protesters. One can hear the screams, the crack of the batons, and shots of some description

#Belarus
A good aerial shot of the situation around "Changes Square" in #Minsk where the 31 year old artist was murdered by police this week. Thousands trying to pay respects, view the makeshift memorial and protest.
The regime responds with more violence
#Austria is still the most #Covid19 infected nation in Europe, but it too saw its first fall in numbers for weeks.
That didn't stop Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announcing an even stricter lockdown from Tuesday when all schools will also close for two and a half weeks
