I know we’re supposed to be excited about the #Infrastructure agreement in the Senate, but I can’t help but think the #GOP succeeded in delaying and slicing it down to the bone.

It *is* exciting that both houses passed an emergency funding bill for the #CapitolPolice before they had to resort to furloughs.

All #Pennsylvania lawmakers voted YES on this package.

In unexpected news, the House has dealt with about 75% of their 2022 funding duties before leaving for their #AugustRecess.

The legislative branch funding package included this raise for congressional staff that @AOC & others advocated for!

The appropriations bill that deals with foreign operations and organizations like @USAID passed the House in a 217-212 vote.

And the “minibus” bill passed as well - it’s a compilation of seven smaller appropriations bills for 2022.

The big news here is re: #abortion. The restrictive #HydeAmendment language was left out of the bill for the 1st time in decades!

Leader #KevinMcCarthy tried and FAILED (tabled = killed) to get @SpeakerPelosi condemned over refusing his #January6selectCommitteemember choices.

Confirmation time.

The @SenateDems had to call another motion to discharge, to get @BLMNational’s Tracy Stone-Manning out of committee.

This was after a confirmation hearing that was so nasty it sparked this op-ed in @TheHill.
