Welcome to the Pennsylvania member of Congress Tracking Report for the week ending March 22, 2020. We are doing things a bit differently this week. All of our content centers on the #COVID19 #coronavirus pandemic.

First up, we have a recap of HR 6201, the #FamiliesFirst bill that was passed on Wednesday by the Senate and signed into law.

If you have a chance, check out the #MoCTrack recap of the #FamiliesFirst action in the Senate. There were three attempts to amend the bill (1 good, 2 awful), and it is worth seeing ow our lawmakers voted on those efforts.

Then we take a look at the phase three #coronavirus response plans for economic stimulus.

@SenateMajLdr offered a starting point for negotiations by way of S. 3548, the #CARESAct. We compare what he has in mind with 3 other plans.

Recommended reading alert!

We know that the original text of @SenateMajLdr’s #CARESAct was just a starting point and things are moving fast.

But you really MUST READ this @JHWeissmann piece for @Slate to get a handle on the #GOP’s plan.

Next up we took an in depth look at the last week in #coronavirus communications from all 20 of our #Pennsylvania Members of Congress.

You can find all of those recaps - in full - via this shortcut.

from @SenBobCasey:

“We must provide direct cash support to the American workers and families who need it most – to help them purchase essentials; pay the rent, mortgage, and bills; and otherwise weather the coming weeks and months.”

Our junior Senator, @SenToomey, doesn’t have a lot of #coronavirus content on his website.

He has been retweeting content from the CDC, and doing his best to dispel rumors, though.
#MoCTrack 8/28
#PA01’s @RepBrianFitz has been decent about providing reliable #coronavirus info, but...

...he has put FAR more effort into promoting his roles in the Problem Solvers Caucus and Coronavirus Caucus than anything else.

#PA02’s @CongBoyle has a website that is chock full of useful info, and his Twitter feed has been equally great.

This press release calling on @POTUS to use the Department of Defense to mitigate the pandemic is great work.
#MoCTrack 10/28
boyle.house.gov/media-center/p…
#PA03’s @RepDwightEvans has been excellent about addressing local concerns and offering suggestions for what #Philly can be doing to handle the #Coronavirus threat.
#MoCTrack 11/28
#PA04’s @RepDean has both a website and twitter feed that is full of useful info.

She is also one of the leading voices in the House for direct cash assistance for all Americans.
#MoCTrack 12/28
dean.house.gov/media/press-re…
#PA05’s @RepMGS has a THREAD on Twitter from this week that is a great collection of resources for all Pennsylvanians who may need government services while practicing #socialDistancing.
#MoCTrack 13/28
#PA06’s @RepHoulahan key quote:

“…we need to have tests, we will never be able to control it effectively and efficiently. Right now, what we’re doing is ‘controlling with a sledgehammer.’”

#PA07’s @RepSusanWild has excellent content on her website, but I have to focus in on this tweet, because she is always on point with her pet-related info!

🐶CONGRESSIONAL DOG CONTENT🐾

#MoCTrack 15/28
#PA08’s @RepCartwright has an excellent collection of updates on his website, none better than his release from this Saturday about getting #PPEs to medical providers.
#MoCTrack 16/28
cartwright.house.gov/media-center/p…
#PA09’s @RepMeuser has only one press release on his website, and his tweets have mostly promoted White House messaging. But he did hold a telephone #townhall this past Friday and allowed ALL constituents to call in.
#MoCTrack 17/28
#PA10’s @RepScottPerry, also had only one #coronavirus related release on his website. His twitter feed was more useful, with some White House promotional content, but also straightforward #COVID19Alerts.
#MoCTrack 18/28
#PA11’s @RepSmucker had several website releases (including a great one on school lunch pick-up sites), and an informative Twitter feed. A lot of his content is focused on small businesses.
#MoCTrack 19/28
#PA12’s @RepFredKeller has the
💩single worst item 💩
I saw in my time reviewing the output of all 20 #Pennsylvania members of Congress.

He wants to call off the statewide #coronavirus shutdown.
#MoCTrack 20/28
keller.house.gov/media/press-re…
#PA13’s @RepJohnJoyce is PA’s only MoC who is a medical doctor. It was surprising, then, that the only #coronavirus item on his website was from 03/13/20. His tweets were not particularly informative.
#MoCTrack 21/28
#PA14’s @GReschenthaler didn’t have any releases on his site re: #coronavirus

He does have a #coronavirus info section on the site, but the content is undated (could be out of date? no way to know). His twitter presence is sparse.
#MoCTrack 22/28
#PA15’s @CongressmanGT has only one #coronavirus item on his website, and it is from 03/14/20. His Twitter presence has a bit of related content, but a lot of it is RTs from @USDA @SecretarySonny.
#MoCTrack 23/28
#PA16’s @MikeKellyPA also only has one bit of #coronavirus content on his website. Most of his twitter feed is focused on retweeting White House content and promotional materials.
#MoCTrack 24/28
PA17’s @RepConorLamb joined that group of MoCs with only one website item, about office closures. His Twitter presence is light… which is his regular state of affairs in non-emergency times too.
#MoCTrack 25/28
#PA18’s @USRepMikeDoyle also has a website with limited info, but his twitter feed has been wonderful! He brought to light the @USDA’s continued efforts to cut #SNAP even during this #pandemic.
#MoCTrack 26/28
We close out the week’s report with a rundown of a bunch of new #coronavirus response bills that legislators nationwide have introduced in the past week, with short recaps where possible (some are so new no text was available...yet).
#MoCTrack 27/28

That’s it for this week.
Stay safe.
Wash your hands.
Practice social distracing.
And make sure you keep up to date with what our lawmakers are doing on our behalf!
