-Its the first asset most of us learnt about
-Educating about #Bitcoin tends to lead to a broader interest in #crypto
-Its the safest bet long term

2/ WHAT WE WILL COVER - PT2

Specifically this thread will cover:
-Problem #BTC solves
-BTC VS GOLD
-Addressing green energy
-Proving it "doesn't crash"

3/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES - PT1

Currently around 200 Central Banks (CBs) control the production & distribution of money and credit for nations around the world.

CBs were entrusted not to devalue a countries currency. But increasingly this is not the case...

4/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES - PT2

Over the last decade central banks began to print money at record levels...which accelerated even further due to #covid19.

Simply countries printed more money to pay off rising debts, associate with the pandemic.

5/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES - PT3

All of this money printing leads to prices going up, because...

You print money

Households have more cash & therefore more money to spend on goods.
⬇️
If there is more money chasing the same amount of goods, firms will just put up prices.

6/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES - PT4

Don't think this price inflation problem is that bad?

Look at the UK example below. Beer alone has gone up 84% alone in the last 20yrs!.

Now apply that to everything from housing, to cars.

It really adds up and all of us become less wealthy.

7/ HOW #bitcoin helps - PT1

Solves this price problem in a few ways...

It is a store of value (like gold).

BUT it is fully decentralised & audited by computers around the world...not central banks.

This means that CBs cant make more of it and create #Bitcoin inflationary.

8/ HOW #bitcoin helps - PT2

In fact #btc is deflationary:
-there are only ever 21M #btc in existence
-18M have already been released (about 85% of supply)
-many have been lost or cant be retrieved, meaning the supply is actually much less than 18M

9/ HOW #bitcoin helps - PT3

In short #bitcoin is like digital gold. A store of value that is a great hedge against inflation...but it is in fact even better

10/ #Bitcoin VS #GOLD

Bitcoin is better than gold because:
-Doesn't require mining that destroys the planet to destroy it.
-Easier to move around the Gold.
-Supply cannot be manipulated by banks (unlike gold)
-And from a price point of view #btc has demolished.

11/ GREEN ENERGY PROBLEM

Ok but isn't #Bitcoin really bad for the environment? In relative terms...no!

Look at the energy consumption of #BTC vs gold and banking via @GalaxyDigitalHQ

12/ DOESN'T IT CRASH A LOT?

Yes its a newish asset.
Yes it may dip between 50/80%
But zoom out and it has only ever gone up, long term, since it started.

13/ CONCLUSION
