.@SunjoyJ: We find ourselves today on a planet which is vastly different from the one where we gathered in person prior to the #pandemic, forcing us to grapple with the tectonic rifts that mark global dynamics today.

.@SunjoyJ: The limits of transnational cooperation, the frailties of global public goods & #supplychains, the use of #tech in controlling our lives, have been exposed by #pandemic—this is the time to talk coherently about what is sustainable, coherent & actionable.

.@vonderleyen: As vibrant democracies, the #EU & #India share fundamental values such as rule of law, fundamental freedoms & #democracy. Despite our geographic distance & the differences in the languages we speak, we are poised to form the strongest of partnerships.

.@vonderleyen: India and the #EU have a lot in common. Despite our differences, we don’t see each other as strangers, but close friends.

.@vonderleyen: Both our regions are driving forces in #digital revolutions and we must pool our strengths to make sure the rules of the analogue world also count in the digital one.

.@vonderleyen: However, challenges in #technology, #economy, and particularly, #security remain even more disruptive today, than they have ever been before.

.@vonderleyen: Today, we see rising challenges to open and free societies. The core principles and fundamentals are at stake, both in #Asia and #Europe.

.@vonderleyen: This is a defining moment. Our decisions will shape the international system and #globaleconomy in the days to come.

Will the right of might dominate or will the rule of law?

.@vonderleyen: What happens in #Ukraine will have an impact on the #IndoPacific. In many ways, it already has. We, therefore, want a targeted vision for a free, resilient, prosperous, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.

.@vonderleyen: For the #EU, all at once, China is an economic negotiator and a systemic rival. We will continue to formulate our approach, response, and strategy towards #China accordingly.

.@vonderleyen: Massive #investments will be required to overcome the impact of the #pandemic & overhaul the disruptions that we have faced. The needs are massive, but so are the opportunities. This is why we have introduced #GlobalGateway.

.@vonderleyen: So, in terms of the #opportunities offered by #GlobalGateway, the choices made today are crucial not only for the #EU and #India but also for the planet we all share.

.@vonderleyen: In a country the size of India, the sum of many individuals’ small decisions can have a tremendous overall impact.

.@vonderleyen: Cutting-edge technology is at the heart of future cooperation. #India & the #EU share many of the values that relate to the use & regulation of #technology, & we could unlock greater potential freedoms & utility as we look to partner in this domain.

.@vonderleyen: The #EU & #India cooperation should find itself at the nexus of #trade, #tech & #security. As like-minded partners, we see India as a strategic investment for the #TerraNova of tomorrow.

.@vonderleyen: We need to strengthen our cooperation in the digital world. Our cooperation is more about talent and #tech based on fundamental values such as standards. Privacy should be guaranteed online as well as offline, & tech should enhance individual freedom.

.@vonderleyen: The global community has to choose whether we want a #TerraNova that is wild and untamed or one that will be a prosperous, new world of #peace, #independence, and #interconnectedness.

.@DrSJaishankar: Seven years since its inception, the #RaisinaDialogue, today, is taking place before 1200 participants from 99 nations and has come of age as it sets new directions for our partnerships with the world.
