[1/🧵] A brief #thread on how to properly download and verify your newest #IOTA#Firefly Windows version. 😉
[2/10] You might be wondering why @iota doesn't allow you to download & upgrade the version via the client.
To be honest, this would definitely improve usability (#UX), but it would also need the user to trust the DL content.
That is precisely what we do not want with #crypto.
[3/10] Who knows whether the network path from #github to your PC wasn't intercepted and a man in the middle (#MITM) replaced your downloaded program with a slightly different one.
To ensure that the program you are installing is the one meant for you, verify the #hashes. 👀
[4/10] Before we get into the technicalities, let me demonstrate & prove to you that altering just a small portion of whatever you're hashing results in an entirely different hash
1⃣ — A notepad file beginning with the letter "a"
2⃣ — A notepad file beginning with the letter "b"
[5/10] The same is true for any other program, including the #firefly desktop wallet.
So, to be absolutely certain that nothing has changed, we must manually (I know, it's a pain) compare the #hash that we produced ourselves to the one that was given to the public.
The next step is to compare the #SHA256 hash we generated with the one the @iota Foundation published on #github to determine whether or not our download was tampered with.
[1/🧵] With all of the #XRPBuyback debate going on, there is one aspect that frequently gets misrepresented
▶️ People conflating the terms "#price" and "#value"
Because the definitions differ, it is essential to comprehend the distinctions
Let us evaluate it more closely. 👇🧵
[2/19] To have a better understanding of the subject, we must first define several terms that are crucial to #finance and explain the following in further detail:
🔹 "Price"
🔹 "Cost"
🔹 "Value"
🔹 "Store of Value" (#Bitcoin/#BTC)
🔹 "Internet of Value" (#Ripple)
[3/19] We will also go through the following scenarios to see whether what we think we are talking about is correct:
1⃣ The chart in reference to the #USD
2⃣ You are about to sell your #property
• Holder of #XRP since December 2020
• Has never heard of $FLR before (Hello, #Spark?)
• Has no idea what the fuss is all about
• Slept under a rock for two years
Allow me to bring you up to speed w/ this crash course on @FlareNetworks and $FLR. 🧵👇
[2/20] If you've been following this topic, you'll recall that there was once a #XRPL snapshot:
• 12th December 2020, 00:00 UTC
• #XRP Ledger index 60,155,580
. . .
[3/20] . . .
You may recall that you had to claim your #Spark coins by providing your #EVM-based $FLR address in the message key field of your #XRPL account.
→ claim period expired on #XRPLedger index 64,204,315
→ Message could be changed until 11th June 2021, 23:59 UTC
. . .
• The #airdrop will take place on January 9th
• DO NOT FEAR: The first two epochs will be burnt
• Before January 14th, one must wrap and delegate $FLR (Saturday)
. . .
• You must claim and reevaluate your delegations on @FlareNetworks twice a week
• Monday and Thursday are the days to do just that: delegate before the next "lock" and claim your rewards from previous epochs.

#XRPL, the leading and first prominent #DLT to achieve 💚 carbon neutrality 💚
Part 2 of this series will teach you all you need to know about the #eco-friendliness of #XRP, the digital asset. 🧵👇
[2/26] ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE!
This is typically a heated topic. That is why I will do my best to be neutral, clear, and factual. Expect no guesstimates or personal opinions on this subject.
Everything is stated exactly as it is!
[3/26] If you haven't already, I highly recommend reading part 1 of this lengthy series to get a feeling of the magnitude of the undertaking that @Ripple is leading in this domain with the help of the #XRPL. 👇
• Prefunding (nostro/vostro) may only be handled by utilizing a decentralized trustless blockchain such as #XRP (used by Ripple), #XDC (used by XinFin/R3), #ETH (used by ConsenSys), or #XLM (used by Stellar)
