[1/🧵] A brief #thread on how to properly download and verify your newest #IOTA #Firefly Windows version. 😉 Source: https://block-builders.de/iota-wallet-firefly-jetzt-
[2/10] You might be wondering why @iota doesn't allow you to download & upgrade the version via the client.

To be honest, this would definitely improve usability (#UX), but it would also need the user to trust the DL content.

That is precisely what we do not want with #crypto. Source: https://firefly.iota.org/
[3/10] Who knows whether the network path from #github to your PC wasn't intercepted and a man in the middle (#MITM) replaced your downloaded program with a slightly different one.

To ensure that the program you are installing is the one meant for you, verify the #hashes. 👀 Source: https://dev.to/pixiumdigital/cyber-security-introduc
[4/10] Before we get into the technicalities, let me demonstrate & prove to you that altering just a small portion of whatever you're hashing results in an entirely different hash

1⃣ — A notepad file beginning with the letter "a"
2⃣ — A notepad file beginning with the letter "b" a.txtb.txt
[5/10] The same is true for any other program, including the #firefly desktop wallet.

So, to be absolutely certain that nothing has changed, we must manually (I know, it's a pain) compare the #hash that we produced ourselves to the one that was given to the public.

#LFG 🤓 Source: https://se-you.tistory.com/11
[6/10] Step 1⃣ — Download the software

First, we download the latest application from #github as normal.

For this, we examine the release candidates that have been publicly *cough* released. 😅

github.com/iotaledger/fir… Firefly Desktop 1.7.1 Latest
[7/10] Step 2⃣ — Open CMD.exe

Next, we launch #cmd.exe (without administrative privileges) and enter the following:

▶️ cd %userprofile%\Downloads

(We are now inside the folder containing the #IOTA #Firefly wallet software.) cd %userprofile%\Downloads
[8/10] Step 3⃣ — Generate a SHA256 hash

To accomplish so, enter the following command after accessing your "Downloads" folder:

▶️ certutil -hashfile "firefly-desktop-1.7.1.exe" SHA256 Eingabeaufforderung
[9/10] Step 4⃣ — Compare the hashes

We're almost there! 😅

The next step is to compare the #SHA256 hash we generated with the one the @iota Foundation published on #github to determine whether or not our download was tampered with. File Hashes How to verify the authenticity of your Firefly
[10/10] That seems good to me! 🥳

[1/🧵] — #XRPL (#XRP) vs. @Ripple #CBDC

A short thread comparing and contrasting the #opensource public #decentralized #XRPLedger with #Ripple's private #CBDC Ledger based on XRPL👇 Source: https://www.youtube.com/@xrpledgerfoundation1145
[2/6] ▶️ What do central bankers expect?

#Interoperability — ILP
#Security, #Trust & #Speed — Unregulated
⚠️ #OverlayServices — Hooks and @EvernodeXRPL
#Access and #Inclusion — XRPL-DEX & AMM
#Stability & #Resilience — 10+ years old (XRPL) Source: https://www.youtube.com/@xrpledgerfoundation1145
[3/6] ▶️ Why does it have to be a private solution?

With proven security & all of the #XRPL Tooling at its disposal, the only thing a CB lacks is "control" of the gov. process.

Gov. on the #XRPL is conducted through amendments and voting, which cannot be controlled centrally. Source: https://www.youtube.com/@xrpledgerfoundation1145

[1/🧵] With all of the #XRPBuyback debate going on, there is one aspect that frequently gets misrepresented

▶️ People conflating the terms "#price" and "#value"

Because the definitions differ, it is essential to comprehend the distinctions

Let us evaluate it more closely. 👇🧵 Source: https://block-builders.net/ripple-for-the-first-time
[2/19] To have a better understanding of the subject, we must first define several terms that are crucial to #finance and explain the following in further detail:

🔹 "Price"
🔹 "Cost"
🔹 "Value"
🔹 "Store of Value" (#Bitcoin/#BTC)
🔹 "Internet of Value" (#Ripple) Source: Source: https://www.newsbreak.com/news/2100245153873
[3/19] We will also go through the following scenarios to see whether what we think we are talking about is correct:

[1/🧵] Is this you? 🤨

• Holder of #XRP since December 2020
• Has never heard of $FLR before (Hello, #Spark?)
• Has no idea what the fuss is all about
• Slept under a rock for two years

Allow me to bring you up to speed w/ this crash course on @FlareNetworks and $FLR. 🧵👇 Source: https://timestabloid.com/flare-ceo-updates-xrp-holde
[2/20] If you've been following this topic, you'll recall that there was once a #XRPL snapshot:

• 12th December 2020, 00:00 UTC
#XRP Ledger index 60,155,580
. . . Source: https://xrpscan.com/ledger/60155580
[3/20] . . .

You may recall that you had to claim your #Spark coins by providing your #EVM-based $FLR address in the message key field of your #XRPL account.

→ claim period expired on #XRPLedger index 64,204,315
→ Message could be changed until 11th June 2021, 23:59 UTC

[1/3] ▶️ What did I learn about $FLR?

• The #airdrop will take place on January 9th
• DO NOT FEAR: The first two epochs will be burnt
• Before January 14th, one must wrap and delegate $FLR (Saturday)
. . .
[2/3] . . .

• You must claim and reevaluate your delegations on @FlareNetworks twice a week
• Monday and Thursday are the days to do just that: delegate before the next "lock" and claim your rewards from previous epochs.
. . .
[3/3] . . . ▶️ When used with $SGB (#Songbird)

• Be active on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (move delegations, claim, and wrap claimed coins)

— OR —

• Be active exclusively on Mondays and Thursdays, with Monday being the day for delegating and claiming on BOTH networks

[1/🧵] #XRPLedger's Green ♻️ Agenda 2030 — Part 2/2

#XRPL, the leading and first prominent #DLT to achieve 💚 carbon neutrality 💚

Part 2 of this series will teach you all you need to know about the #eco-friendliness of #XRP, the digital asset. 🧵👇 Original Source: https://www.xrparcade.com/what-is-xrp/
[2/26] ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE!

This is typically a heated topic. That is why I will do my best to be neutral, clear, and factual. Expect no guesstimates or personal opinions on this subject.

Everything is stated exactly as it is! Source: https://www.asap.nl/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Discl
[3/26] If you haven't already, I highly recommend reading part 1 of this lengthy series to get a feeling of the magnitude of the undertaking that @Ripple is leading in this domain with the help of the #XRPL. 👇

@Michael30339531 @sentosumosaba @ConsenSys @stedas @Ripple 1/ As things currently stand, no obvious winner has been elected.

However, the following should be noted:
• The majority of BIS research initiatives allude to a future DLT architecture.
. . .
@Michael30339531 @sentosumosaba @ConsenSys @stedas @Ripple 2/ . . .

• Prefunding (nostro/vostro) may only be handled by utilizing a decentralized trustless blockchain such as #XRP (used by Ripple), #XDC (used by XinFin/R3), #ETH (used by ConsenSys), or #XLM (used by Stellar)
. . .
@Michael30339531 @sentosumosaba @ConsenSys @stedas @Ripple 3/ . . .

• In my perspective, numerous #RTGS (such as #RippleNet) will compete and eventually be compatible with one another.
