So, I'm pumped: I'm pretty sure there's something going on in Paris hinting for future additions #thread
So let's gather all the facts together: TWDC bought Paris. Paris is finally a Disney resort after all. What also means: The US takes control
This was a necessary step after all those management faults in the last years. So: What's happening next?
Anyone remembers Bob Iger visiting Disneyland Paris some weeks ago? This could be a small visit to say hi. But let's be honest: It ain't.
Iger was not only surrounded by Catherine Powell but also by Bob Weis and Tom Fitzgerald. The top level of Imagineering. If this was...
...just a small visit, both of them weren't necessary to be honest. And look what's happening right now? We have new construction permits...
...surfacing with the name "Diamond Horseshoe" - the original name of the classic Frontierland saloon in the US. Using this name is a...
...statement that they implement more and more US and classic thoughts to our resort, even if it's just a project name.
Another hint: The recent balloon test near Frontierland. You use balloons for heights - especially for new buildings and landmarks.
I've never seen a Disney Park using balloons just to check the height of a crane. Let's be honest: I think that's totally unnecessary.
And what a surprise: This height test is near a bigger backstage area which could be used for expansion.
So, a lot people think, this will be part of the Chaparral Theatre renewal. I don't think so. This height doesn't make sense for a...
...theatre type like this. It just makes sense if they build a completely new theatre.
And let's be honest: A completely new theatre with this height in Frontierland? This is highly unlikely.
I mean, it's a possibility. But the height of this balloon could hint something different.
The hammers indicate the position of the balloon: near Catastrophe Canyon and Chaparrel Theatre.
So, possibilities are: construction in the Studios OR Disneyland Park. Studios: a tear-down of the Studios tour. And this will release...
...a lot of space for new attractions and more. And in the Disneyland Park: and expansion behind the railroad in Frontierland.
And if you move your thoughts towards Studios: A brand-new Marvel show is coming next year to Cinemagique. A Marvel season for Summer 18...
...and Star Wars activities finally moving to Disneyland Park starting Spring 18 are hinting this as well.
There are so many rumors and activities going on about Disneyland Paris. And with those photos of Iger visiting Frontierland with Weis...
and Fitzgerald, this isn't just a "Hi, nice to meet you, I just want to hear about your new theatre and Phantom Manor refurb" thing.
So even this balloon is just an expansion of Chaparral, there are other things which might come in the next few years in Paris.
So, maybe after all this years of being sour that we just get small character gatherings and refurb of existing rides, we finally can...
...start to dream again. It would be amazing to see our Paris resort not standing in the shadows of Orlando or Anaheim.
And: this is not a "I know more than you" thread, it's just putting all those important puzzle pieces together.
So, let's hope for the best! And hope that TWDC will finally put our Paris resort to new heights.
