Hi friends! I’m gonna have to go on a rant that’ll probably get me suspended from @twitter or possibly banned. But here goes...
Yesterday, Rose McGowan (@rosemcgowan) called @BenAffleck a liar. Twitter responded by suspending her acct for Terms of Service violations.
Fuck you @twitter. Your unprofitable service and it’s selective draconian rules CANNOT SILENCE WOMEN. You can try but it will backfire.
The problem, for me, is @Twitter does not suspend or reprimand the President. Ever.
The president who, even members of his own party believe, uses twitter in a childish, abusive manner. CC: @BenSasse @SenBobCorker
But @Twitter will always let a powerful man like @realDonaldTrump do whatever they want. He legitimizes your unprofitable service.
A consequence of the legitimacy the abusive POTUS gives to @Twitter is legitimizing other, less powerful voices. But Twitter rejects this.
Instead, @Twitter suspends a victim of sexual harassment for daring to call out another powerful man as a liar and false ally.
By the way, @BenAffleck had to appologize yesterday for the time he groped a woman on TRL. He is NO hero. Stop protecting him @Twitter.
For me: until @Twitter does something about @realDonaldTrump abuses of ToS they have proven that, as a service, they hate women.
Or at least prioritize exposure and profitability (ha!) over women’s bodies. So way to go @jack, I’m sure you can sleep at night you monster
But you shouldn’t. You should be up late worrying that the line you draw between decency and profitability is one the whole 🌎 is watching.
You should be embarassed, if not for yourself (ship sailed there buddy) - for your mother or grandmother.
Rose McGowan did nothing wrong in reality. She spoke truth to power. So keep on keepin on @rosemcgowan and fuck off @realDonaldTrump
