Believe me- I have been reminded over & over that I don't fit the "impossible standard of beauty" that seems to be required of female actors

I've tried to stay true to my feminist principles in my work. Which can be hard when you have a limited amount of options

But it's been important to me to try to play characters who are not defined by not being as beautiful as women you typically see on screen.

Who are their own person, with their own narrative. Who can be sexual, and are loved

But the overwhelming thing I heard in this industry was that playing anything other than "sad friend w chocolate bar" would be hard for me

Despite this. And despite my penchant for wearing sweats and uggs to work. I have been groped, harassed, hit on,

I've been made to feel responsible, ashamed, to ask myself how I might have invited the attention.

Guess what. I fucking didn't. None of us did. No matter what

I don't give a fuck what you were wearing. Or how men/the world would rank your beauty. Or how sexual you were being before your assault

To all the women who have come forward. And those who are still afraid to. I stand with you
