The House has decided that $400B of tax cuts is more important than $400B of coverage & they will repeal the ACA mandate. 2/
Relying the CBO which they now trust, they are willing to uninsure 16 million Americans to get savings for the tax cuts. 3/
GOP will say 2 things: Those 16 million will *choose* not to have coverage.
And-- they will roundly dispute the 16mm number. 4/

Think about this selective use of the CBO. To get the $400B in savings, they need to reduce subsidies for 16mm. And the $400B they need. 5/
The $400B they need in order to appease deficit hawks in their party who don't want to support a tax cut that doesn't have cuts. 6/
The impact is not only to increase the uninsured rate dramatically, but to increase premiums by ~20% by pulling healthy ppl out of ACA. 7/
This comes on top of whatever other cuts are necessary to close the $1.5 trillion gap in the tax plan-- to Medicaid & Medicare. 8/
Many of the people who lose coverage lose it because the availability will decrease as the risk pool change causes insurers to exit. 9/
