In the last few weeks since I wrote this, we saw the US push corporate social networks to delete a global leader it found objectionable.
The UK threaten the corporate social networks with tax penalties unless they actively engaged in counter terrorism through censorship and surveillance.
And Germany just passed a law that forces (with massive penalties) the corporate social networks to aggressively police speech -- a law that is turning out to be very effective at banning the political right.
