The same mix of nationalism & bombast and noises of economic interventionism in Modi's India, Abe's Japan, Duterte's Philippines. In India establishment centre-left Congress is in criosis while Modi goes full Trumpite with the BJP.
Similarly, in Japan the centre-left melted (surprisingly) in the face of Abe even as centrists left the LDP to find open political water that turned out not to exist.
Would add Turkey, whose voting I do know something about: Erdoğan's electoral coalition is nationalist and religious voters from the ethnic majority, especially the lower middle-class; his opponents the secular upper-middle-classes and (often very poor) minority voters.
Could add in the example of Thaksin Shinawatra in Thailand 10-15 years ago who ended up provoking a military coup & effectively killing Thai democracy. His big ideas: nationalism, telling working-class Thais he'd stop elites screwing them, opposition to Muslims.
And his opponents* - a mix of educated Bangkok liberals, Muslims in the south, and some other minorities who felt threatened by him. Remind you of anywhere else? (* Oh, later his opponents included the army and the king, which was pretty career-ending.)
I don't think the current wave of populism is limited to the West or even necessarily very "Western". Globalisation plus social media plus weakened journalism plus weakened families and social institutions happen in other societies, can can produce similar results.
One final interesting nugget is how little sign there is of any of this in Latin America, whose traditional left-right dichotomy seems little changed, except perhaps in Brazil with its fragmented parties & slow, steady, growth of Evangelical Right-wing politicos.
