Dear Gullible Pundits: You may be tempted to use the word 'presidential' tonight after Trump's State of the Union, as he badly reads prepared remarks from a teleprompter. I beg you, before you do, read this to understand why describing Trump that way makes you look like a moron:
Was it 'presidential' when Trump bragged about his comparatively large 'button' while threatening nuclear war on Twitter?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump called those who marched alongside white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and the Klan 'very fine people' at the same time that he called on black athletes peacefully protesting police brutality 'sons of bitches'?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump made up a vicious, despicable lie about the appearance of a television morning show host simply because she criticizes him, a right that he is sworn to defend?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump retweeted a GIF of him beating up CNN in a fake wrestling arena or hitting Hillary Clinton with a golf ball?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump bragged about his penis during the presidential debates?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump compared American intelligence agencies, composed of brave people, including some who risk their lives to keep Americans safe, with Nazi Germany?
Was it 'presidential' when he called Kim Jong-un short and fat on Twitter?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump retweeted the neo-fascist leader of a far right British hate group, a person who had been arrested for inciting religious hatred and had appeared as a guest on Radio Aryan after they read Mein Kampf?
Was it 'presidential' when Trump called, repeatedly, for his political opponents to be jailed despite a lack of criminal evidence or an indictment?
Was it 'presidential' when he fabricated a lie about President Obama regarding a wire 'tapp' -- after years of spreading a vicious, racist lie about Obama's birthplace?
Was it 'presidential' when he shoved another world leader out of the way at a NATO summit, simply so he could be center stage?
Was it 'presidential' when he used Stalinist language to denigrate the free press, a pillar of democracy he is sworn to defend?
Trump is the antithesis of 'presidential.' He lowers the office & degrades it everyday he occupies it. Pundits: do yourself a favor. Remember that tonight doesn't exist in a vacuum. Trump is a reckless, impulsive, uninformed serial liar. A teleprompter speech doesn't change that.
