1. So last night I noticed a somewhat large drop of subscribers, that plus a considerably big portion of the comments I receive on my channel are being marked as spam (The youtube studio app helps to keep track of these things) Here is what I'm most certain is happening:
2. While it is true that many of us feel somewhat under pressure by the new "rules" effective in less than 10 days, we gotta ask ourselves what the smartest way to deal with this is.
3. And it is certainly NOT by spamming a bunch of channels in hopes to magically grow your subscribers and get more views (which FYI views and watch time isn't the same)
4. Yes, copying and pasting the same comment over and over IS spamming, commenting and subscribing without watching even a portion of other people's content IS spamming, and so forth... I hope you get the idea.
5. I want to help others and consequently be helped of course, but I'd much rather have this happen as organically as possible.
6. All of these people/channels desperately spamming are starting to be removed from subscribers lists and whichever minuscule time they've spent on others' channels is being regressed as well.
7. This doesn't help anybody in the picture, so It is safe to say that at this point it is an absolute waste of time. Question here: What makes us smarter than algorithms? Reply as you see fits.
8. I want to help thus have been spending time watching small creators, at least one of their videos, entirely. By actually watching and commenting accordingly we not only REALLY help but there's a higher chance that they will return the favor without one having to DEMAND it.
9. At this point the spamming thing is actually bothering more than the new regulations. I was one of the thousands bitching about it the first couple of days but I have been able to turn the thing into actual MOTIVATION to keep on sharing and try and do so more efficiently.
10. So, only those willing to actually engage in helping in a GENUINE way will be getting my attention. Not wasting my time with the "sub4sub, your turn now etc.." kind of comments. I am sorry but NO.
11. I have been keeping tabs on with playlists from different channels to hopefully help boost they watch time... There's only so much we can do but if we all focus on doing the same, the results will be a lot better for everybody.
