Senate GOP Trump-backed DACA plan has just come out. Let's take a quick look what the GOP is offering in exchange for massive enforcement & huge cuts to legal immigration. judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…
They claim that it would be 10 year path to citizenship, but here are the relevant provisions. Clearly a 14-year path to citizenship. Are they confused or what? judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/… 
They claim it would provide a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million people. Yet @MigrationPolicy lists 1.5 million MAX eligible under similar base criteria & DACA saw just a 50-60% enrollment rate. That's max 1 million initially legalized w/o a path yet
.@MigrationPolicy further estimates that only 80% of those would meet similar criteria for permanent residency status, meaning only 800K or so might end up on a "pathway to citizenship" under the senators' plan migrationpolicy.org/research/prote…
But even that is a farce because it contains numerous non-criminal bars to applying as well as criminal bars based on crimes related entirely to one's illegal status (exempted under Dream Act & DACA).
Here is my informal list of the various non-criminal bars to applying under their plan. The big ones: falsely claiming citizenship, orders of removal, misrepresentation for immigration benefits, and anyone previously deported 
Requirements like this will pointlessly drive up the cost of receiving residency under the bill compared to the Dream Act 
Only 2/3 of immigrants eligible for citizenship apply for it. Even if more Dreamers do, I'd guess that at the end of the day, maybe only 600K or so would end up receiving citizenship. pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018…
