4/ America has a very complicated history with presidents or presidential candidates who've hidden their medical conditions. In this case, the danger of an ongoing drug addiction—deliberately hidden from American voters (via deception) in a close election—is a big national story.
5/ Moreover, Trump's most aberrant behaviors—bizarre hyperactivity, minimal sleep, and so on—appear to track with the side effects of these uppers he allegedly took for 8 years that are in fact recommended and/or authorized for continued use up to 25 weeks only. So there's that.
6/ And the story also alleges a serious medical condition—apparent past or even present drug addiction—was hidden from American voters through suborned lies and the falsification, destruction, or withholding of medical records. That in itself is a Watergate-level scandal if true.
7/ This story carries a second attendant scandal: it having been buried by Newsweek at a time—depending on its pub date had it not been killed—that could've affected U.S. voters' votes or (if post-inauguration) discussions of the 25th Amendment and Trump's coverup of malfeasance.
