Me: Thank you for your support. Seriously, it means a lot to us, especially during a deployment.

2/ Well actually, moron, AR-15s aren’t the same as M4s.
Me: I could have carried an AR-15 in Iraq and it would have precisely no negative impact on my combat effectiveness / lethality / tactics, etc. Go gunsplain your BS elsewhere, please.

3/ Just because you’re a veteran doesn’t mean you’re smarter / better than me.
Me: I agree wholeheartedly. Let’s all stop idolizing people in uniform.

4/ We never should have gone to Iraq and you should be ashamed of having fought over there.
Me: Yeah, I’m sorta with you on those ones, too. I’m not personally ashamed of my own actions, but it’s hard to see that conflict as anything but a tragedy for everyone involved @ this pt.

5/ You’re a fake! You probably didn’t even serve.
Me: Aw, man … you caught me! Shucks. But you gotta give me credit for really committing to the role. I mean, I wrote a whole book about my fake deployment to Iraq.
