And the kicker is that we don't just want to serve you better ads...WE CAN EFFING DETAIN YOU AND DEPRIVE YOUR LIBERTY WHENEVER THE HELL WE FEEL LIKE IT OR NEED YOUR "COOPERATION."

So yeah. #Zuckerberg and his merry band of coders are doing some creepy shit with data...but compared to us, the government, they're nothing but a bunch of little bitches.

Here's how it works. Everybody commits felonies. Don't believe us? Follow @CrimeADay, and see how easy it is to commit a federal offense. Normally this isn't a problem for most people. But, should the feds, cops, whomever ever need your help...

Maybe decades ago, before digital communications and domestic surveillance were so ubiquitous, it wasn't so easy to compel cooperation. But now that everything you do and say digitally is basically an open book...it's, "Help us...or we're going to go after you for X."

Or maybe it isn't even help they need. Maybe it is just padding conviction stats. Raising money through asset forfeiture. Or the sheriff's deputy in Washington County, GA has an axe to grind because you're a dick or his ex-wife... you're toast.

Facebook is an easy target because it doesn't require you to think in the hypothetical; the breach of privacy is easy to see and comprehend, and it's easy to hate "Big Business."

But Facebook isn't going to rip you off a flight for a questionable social media post that you really meant in jest, or kick down your door at night. If you *really* value privacy, start asking your Congressional reps why the hell they keep renewing federal surveillance powers...

Though, #TSA prefers if you don't. *winky dink*
