1) Islamic National Socialism, a form of government Iran now has, with its own theocratic bend.

I'll note, with Socialism, it is about OWNERSHIP. The government owns everything. The government owns its natural resources, its economy, its people.
2) I remarked earlier that the UK was treating the dying child like a sick horse rather than a human being. That's really what the mentality is. Human life is so devalued under socialism, that the people are property to be managed.
3) Because it is all about ownership and power. That's what defines a government. Who has the power, who owns what. In socialism, both answers are the government. National healthcare where people are under a court order to die. Literally, a court order demanding a child's death.
4) That's the government controlling its medicine AND the lives of its people.

Ownership of banks. That is the government controlling both the economy and the purse-strings of its people.
5) Cyprus, in 2013. Cyprus is a tiny ass island, sorry, HALF an island (the other half is effectively occupied by Turkey and ran by a puppet government). Thus, tourism and banking where the only 2 things it could reliably handle.
6) So, Cyprus set itself up as a location where people outside the EU could offshore money, most notably Russians, and those same banks would then loan the money to the rest of the EU, most notably Greece who had deep historic ties with Cyprus.
7) Keeping it short; Greece goes down. Banks of the larger EU nations are given priority for getting their debts paid off, IE Germany's Deutschebank (deeply tied to the German government, of course), while Cyprus' banks were hosed.
8) The governments of Cyprus and the EU proceeded to put capital controls on the people of Cyprus, limiting the amount that could be withdrawn from ATMs, preventing money from being physically taken offshore, etc. They would lose some of their deposits to keep the banks afloat.
9) The banks' debts were a FRACTION of what the EU had already thrown to Greece and other countries' banks several times already. But, it was argued by Merkel and others, the EU couldn't bail out Russian deposits!
10) At this point, the Russians had virtually all evaded the capital controls by withdrawing all their money from local branches of the Cyprus banks elsewhere in Eastern Europe and Russia. Yyyyyyyep.
11) Cyprus' government in the lead up? Communist party. Their successors were socialists. Neither understood the concept of property rights, and agreed to the bail-in screwing their people over. And not 'their' people as in they were one and the same, but because they OWNED them.
12) The money of the people of Cyprus wasn't theirs, it was the governments. They had no control over their own money.
13) Let us flip to Iran. The IRGC, the literal SS of the Mullahs, control vast swathes of Iran's economy, including most notably many of the dams through a series of shell companies or direct ownership, as the IRGC built them at a record pace over the past few decades.
14) @HeshmatAlavi has several threads detailing the effects, as rivers that once flowed through cities now are giant troughs of sand. Farmers nationwide are protesting because the IRGC, who controls all the water, won't give them enough.
15) Not only does the IRGC control the banks, they control the very natural resources of the country. Because again. Socialism is about ownership and power.
16) In socialism, the government owns everything; different socialist countries just vary in how much they let you think you own, and regardless it can be taken away at a moments notice.
17) In socialism, all the power rests with the government. The people find themselves virtually powerless. They don't even truly own themselves, what power do they REALLY have?
