A VERY DANGEROUS GAME
1. If you didn’t already know it, we are amidst an epic struggle for the future of our country. I know, I know, this has always been the case, but at this particular time in our history, the situation is acute.

2. To those of us following the minute by minute developments, this is plainly obvious, but there are many more who are completely unaware of the battle being waged. As a nation, we’ve been indoctrinated over time to believe the news media is to be trusted.
3. But, like the proverbial frog in the frying pan, news has eroded into straight propaganda and political dogma and we are the “frogs” in the frying pan who didn’t know when to leap out, at least en masse.
4. However, the case of Donald J. Trump is about to cause fantasy and reality collide and it could become very dangerous, very fast. I would argue that is already has.
5. I see people on my TL everyday who are absolutely convinced that Trump is being controlled by the Kremlin and that he will be going to prison soon.I’m sure all of you have seen the same. It could be that they want it to be true so badly they have confirmation bias.
6. It could be that they believe the propaganda that they are feed constantly. Of course, it could be a combination of both. The real question is, when, if ever, will they stop believing it and what are the repercussions if they don’t?
7. We are on the cusp of the OIG report being released, and if what we suspect to be true is revealed in the report, things could get very nasty very quickly.
8. First will come the allegations of partisanship by the OIG & the MSM will brush aside the report and continue with their preferred narrative. Next will come the Congressional hearings in which the Inspector General will testify which will be very difficult to refute.
9. Then come the indictments for the bad actors involved, and fantasy and reality will collide. How will the media reconcile their total abrogation of duty over the last 2 years of incessant cries of, “Russia, Russia, Russia?”
10. Unable to accept that Donald Trump is not going to be indicted, maximum effort will be made to regain control (God forbid) of congress wherein the Democrats will be forced by their base to pursue impeachment of Trump. What then?
11. Do Trumps supporters seem like the type who are going to sit idly by and watch as their president is railroaded? No, I don’t either.
12. As I stated in the title of this post, we are playing a very, very dangerous game and there seems to be no respected authority figures willing to step in and say enough is enough.
13. I am hopeful that the scenario I’ve described can be averted, but right now, I just don’t see it. The next few months, and indeed the next few years, are going to be difficult as fantasy and reality collide. What will be the result?
