1. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19? #Brexit?

#Dogma!

I've had some very clear views since the beginning of the year on the challenges facing Travel and the difficulties ahead. I've taken a cautionary approach based on research

2. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19? #Brexit?

#Dogma!

I also happen to believe that if @GOVUK & #TravelIndustry go into a huddle with each other, on issues that directly affect #Consumers, then we should read/hear what they have discussed & have decided

3. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19? #Brexit?

#Dogma!

For many years I have passionately advocated #ConsumerRights & believe that @GOVUK should advocate those rights incl taking unilateral action to enforce provisions where they think the law's been broken

@LBC @NickFerrariLBC

Thnx 4opp 2talk abt current #Airport #Airline #Travel chaos; not just UK prob; it extends across #Europe

Many reasons & blame abound but the return to normality was always going 2B problematic.

#Brexit transferred 261/2004 Rights; @CAA_UK should enforce!
2. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19? @LBC

Key Q: @GOVUK claim they'd warned #TravelIndustry, concerned that they: "Seriously oversold flights & holidays relative to their capacity".

@grantshapps publish meetings, minutes & warnings; let's see the detail!......
3. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19? @LBC @NickFerrariLBC

....It is this use of language, by all parties, that's designed to present their position that creates confusion in #Consumer understanding and indeed their expectations

It's all very good having high expectations, but...

1. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19?

During this #COVID I am going to create a rolling thread about key issues and articles of interest, just so as you can see the evolution toward a return to normality in 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025; according to predictions by #Aviation!
2. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19?

Interesting article about #staycations and their price!!

The attitude of some UK h/makers, is I'm afraid, a common feature found in holidays abroad. I've heard many a tale about the Master vs Serf behaviour of some Brits! independent.co.uk/voices/holiday…
3. #Travel? #Holidays? #COVID19?

It's not done with us yet:

"...hard to anticipate what the timeline will be for the expected shift of COVID-19 to endemicity..."

This is the #DemPartyPlatform for 2020. This section is called: Protecting Consumer Rights and Privacy..Only one party has a specific plan for protecting the rights of the American consumer..the other has decided it’s ok for you to eat diseased chicken 1/8 Image
Consumers, workers, students, retirees, and investors who have been mistreated by businesses should never be denied their right to fight for fair treatment under the law. 2/8 #DemPartyPlatform #ConsumerRights Image

This week I was able to travel to 4 districts in #GilgitBaltistan to meet freelancers and individuals working at various private organizations. Internet issues are far more worrying than I knew previously.

#Internet4GilgitBaltistan

(1/10)
Within the densely populated Gilgit city, there are a number of neighborhoods that don't even get signals of one of the major telecom operators that provide 3G/4G services. In areas of Sonikot, you have to get to the roof to catch signals.

(2/10)
The representatives at an SCO franchise in NLI Market were unable to explain the speed to expect for subscribing to a certain data package. They kept insisting, a separate 4G device that costs Rs. 3,500 can fix the issue. It was out of stock.

Welcome to the Member of Congress Tracking Report for the week ending November 10, 2019. With Congress on recess this week, we are going to do things a bit differently this week. We are going to take a dive into #McConnellsGraveyard.

#GOP keeps trotting out their tired talking point about the “do-nothing-Dems” and all we can concentrate on is #Impeachment.

NOT TRUE.

What you’ll find below are 30 bills of the 300+ that #McConnell has stalled in the Senate.

I have a lot to say about this recent story by @cbcErica @cbcgopublic on #Telecom @contracts & #SalesPractices, as a #lawprof working in #ConsumerRights & #DisputeResolution & not as a director of CCTS (disclaimer: views my own, based on my research & publicly available info) 1/8
My work (with funding from Forum of Canadian Ombudsman) on industry ombuds in 🇨🇦🇦🇺🇬🇧, commonlaw.uottawa.ca/en/news/prof-p…, found that these schemes do provide access to justice by providing quick dispute resolution for consumers. But...they do have two major drawbacks 2/8
Industry ombuds schemes, like @CCTS_CPRST, resolve individual disputes but can't do independent investigations and also don't have powers to change industry practices. While resolution may be good for individual consumers, it compartmentalizes systemic issues. 3/8
