Listening to coverage of Brett Kavanaugh's past, I decided to Google the judge and "Deep State" and out pops this article from Roger Stone on the odious website Infowars, warning Trump not to pick him. infowars.com/roger-stone-ka… /1
Roger Stone thinks Judge Brett Kavanaugh will betray the right, and cites the voting records of David Souter and John Roberts, appointed by the Georges Bush, and who he thinks served liberal interests rather than those of true conservatives. /2
Yesterday this @GOP tweet crossed my screen, I confess I was surprised to see that @ChrisCuomo and @chucktodd were commending the nominee, my first thought was that maybe the GOP was quoting them both out of context in these clips. /3
"Kavanaugh is not only the candidate of Karl Rove and the Bush family, but the mainstream media praise for his potential appointment shows he is a deep state quisling," says Stone. Maybe he spotted the same tweet. /4
When Kavanaugh was first cited as a front runner for this position, he was widely discounted by many commentators because of his connections to the Bush Family (recall Trump didn't go to Barbara's funeral) . It was the GW Bush who nominated him to the Federal bench in 2003. /5
Stone then proceeds to tell of Brett Kavanaugh's involvement in one of the Deep State conspiracy's Top 10 Hits, the alleged Clinton murder of Vince Foster,. Whilst dismissing the underlying premise - that Foster was murdered - he alleges Kavanaugh participated in the cover up. /6
Which adds yet another astonishing historic event for Brett Kavanaugh to have been involved with. The events - if true - took place the year before Ken Starr was appointed as a Special Counsel to look into Whitewater when the SCOTUS nominee was still in his 20s. /7
Yet another historic event that the seemingly, intensely political Kavanaugh happened to be involved with. Here @SenSchumer draws attention to the Judge's career with GW Bush during Kavanaugh's unsuccessful confirmation hearing in 2004 (he was 39). gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CHRG… /8
Stone again: "It would be like letting Hillary Clinton appoint the next justice; Kavanaugh has been a loyal soldier in the Bush/Clinton Crime Syndicate. He is the wrong man for this job because he did clean-up work for the Clintons and the political establishment." /9
So what does this all mean? Is there a deep state? Are the Bushes and Clinton's involved? Who is Kavanaugh loyal to, the Federalist Society, the Heritage Foundation, the Bushes or the Clintons? Or none of the above? /10
I have no idea, but whichever way you look at it Brett Kavanaugh seem a very odd pick to make, Yesterday I posited the idea that perhaps Trump doesn't actually want Kavanaugh confirmed so much as he wants yet another political conflagration. threadreaderapp.com/thread/1016607… /11
Maybe Trump doesn't know about the Clintonian connections. He doesn't read much and the deep state probably wouldn't have been actively seeking to draw that to his attention. But it is very curious. /12
Or maybe the reason Trump has chosen to appoint such a well connected (Deep State) judge is a hint of something else, i.e. that the Deep State has adopted Trump (or Trump has always been part of it), and appointing Brett Kavanaugh is part of the deal. /13
