@SDEurope07 is holding a conference for SLOs. I’ve been advocating that the Sounders (and MLS at large) implement the SLO concept for some time.
SLO stands for Supporter Liaison Officer. It’s basically a position dedicated to improving and maintaining effective communication between a club and its fan base.

It’s a licensing requirement in UEFA and possibly in CONCACAF soon, too.
The key features that make an SLO more effective is that clubs should hire someone from the supporter ranks, not necessarily from their typical hiring pool; and they should have fan/supporter outreach and interests as their primary job tasks.

So I know a lot of us get socialized into thinking that any criticism at all is basically us being thrown into the garbage can forever and ever, but that's not what a call out is. If you see it this way, then it's no wonder that you'll double down and get fragile and freak out.
I like to use the example of acting as a good parallel, and the idea of taking notes in acting.

Reading a 2015 book about the intellectual origins of Alexander Dugin called Black Wind White Snow.

And it seems to be...the fascist strains of German Romanticism but applied to Russians with less intellectual heft? And Orientalism.
Which is funny because they see it as an original intellectual movement.

Why am I reading this? I have a background in philosophy and figured I would pick up on this shitty version easily. And I'm an American -- we need to know about this now.
I've only read the first chapter, about these two linguists who originated this thinking as exiles after the revolution.

They're said to be the only two people with real intellectual chops behind any of this, and their theories are preposterous.
