Meet @Evelyn_Fordd. This is a pro-Trump account that is automated via three different services: dlvrit, twitterfeed (which appears to have shut down), and jurijkovall (we'll return to that one later). 
Searching through the accounts that have interacted with @Evelyn_Fordd turns up two additional accounts using the same set of automation services: @Doris_Finchh and @Carol_Bushh. Note the weird repeated letter in the last names of all three.
We then downloaded tweets for @Evelyn_Fordd followers and followees (is that a word?) and found a total of 20 automated accounts fitting the same pattern with a variety of tweet schedules. They appear to have been created in two batches: one in July 2016, the other in April 2017.
In an utterly unsurprising development, whoever is operating these bots appears to have borrowed photos from various places on the internet. Here are some examples of reverse image search results for profile pics from several of the accounts.
The accounts in the older batch (created in 2016) didn't always tweet in English - nine of them originally tweeted in Russian. Oh, and one more thing. . .
Let's look at "jurijkovall" (one of the apps used for automating the accounts). Twitter's API provides the website associate with the app, in this case an IP address. A whois query reveals the contact info for said IP address is located in Moscow.
While we can't be 100% positive the operators of this botnet are in fact located in Russia, the early phase of Russian tweets and the link between one of the automation tools and an IP address in Moscow does suggest it.
