The medical community has been clear that Brexit is bad for the NHS from the start. They're now screaming it. They say a vote on the deal is vital to save the NHS from major harm.
So why is this tweet getting so much backlash?🤔

I mean, seriously. How can any logical person who cares about the NHS look at THIS and still support Brexit?
Is Boris Johnson really a better source of medical advice than actual doctors?!?!
And if this isn't enough to convince you that Brexit is bad for the NHS, please, tell me... WHAT WOULD BE!
I am so tired of the "We can't know how bad it is. We haven't done it yet" argument.

I don't have a party to run / election to win, so maybe it's rich of me to stand on principle; maybe I'm naive, but...
I'm not willing to pretend that a good Brexit deal is possible just because I'm scared people (who I should have won over on Brexit) might think I'm ruining it.
I get why some might choose that due to their own strategic priorities. But if we go down the path of "keep trying Brexit until every last person is convinced it can't work":
a) We risk crashing out.
b) People would blame the EU not Brexit #HowWeGotInThisMess
c) It's dishonest
🔻The Tories want to endanger the Belfast Agreement which the EU won't allow. And even this Brexit will be rejected.
🔻Labour's Brexit must meet the 6 tests. That means Single Market & Customs Union. Parliament would never approve that for the same reasons we're stuck now.

It is difficult to explain in tweets but there is a clear path to fascism linked to the path of capitalism. And what we are seeing on the streets is evidence of that. It is to do with the scale of business, the increased amount of power in corporate hands vs Nation State. 1/
Put it this way if small companies complain about regulations that stop them exploiting customers the regs won't change, but if a huge multinational with revenue of a small country complains they can change regs, change policy, change gov 2/

1) Looking in the tea leaves - where's Labour going post #Brexit?
Predictions in these bizarre times are a fool's activity but what the hell

After all the "no deal" scares the chances are reasonable that May will eventually compromise on a Deal for Brexit & get it past her party
2) of course it won't be a good deal (all #Brexit deals are bad) but it will likely be a fudge that looks on the surface to be acceptable. In fact it might not be a million miles from Labour's idea of a deal.

And it won't be good for the UK, just less bad than no deal
3) May will proclaim the "union of customs" & "market of singles" a victory, and the EU will let her, because they don't buy the Express and don't care if she puts lipstick on a pig by calling a slow defeat a victory

1) Was determined to back off Labour & Corbyn this week & support them going forward on #Brexit

But now this, following Corbyn's speech.

Corbyn's team want Brexit. They don't want to listen to the members on a #PeoplesVote & now it's been raised, they are switching position
2) let's just look at the chronology
I) Starmer (but no one else in Leadership) talks occasionally over last 2 years about "exact same benefits" 6 tests
ii) privately, @BarryGardiner describes them as nonsense
@BarryGardiner 3) iii) in run up to conference, probably because they know there is a huge influx of CLP motions asking for an early vote, Corbyn & others start talking about the 6 tests really for the first time.

1. Instead of credible #Brexit plans, all we are getting is weak triangulation between warring factions with each party trying to reconcile the irreconcilable contradictions within their own movements. Nobody is seriously engaging with reality.
2. The debate is no longer about distinct issues and I honestly don't think Brexiters even care. Hard Brexit is just a banner for the hard right to rally under. They are not interested in what damage it will do. This is purely about taking power.
3. It doesn't matter if their latest plan has no chance of working and doesn't address the issues. It exists only as a political stick to beat Theresa May with. The ring leaders don't need to do detail because the Tory Brexit clan will believe whatever they are told to believe.

1/ chequers shows there is unlikely to be a deal acceptable to the EU and the europhobes in the tory party #Brexit so its likely that no deal #Brexit is the only available #Brexit and therefore there is unlikely to be a choice of deal or no deal to start with
2/ if May does comeback with a deal it will need labour support to pass Labour would have to choose between backing it thus forgoing any chance of bringing down the government and thus the GE they say they want and angering the labour movement or voting it down

2) Yesterday the EU simply reiterated what they had always said, the Chequers plan was unworkable, a cherry pick deal and undermined the 4 freedoms.
Anyone paying attention knew that for months
Numerous commentators said the Tory party was fighting over a non #Brexit deal
3) The Labour party have been almost silent however on this deep humiliation for May, even refusing to appear on C4 news when the government & #Brexit are on the ropes.
The "never interrupt your enemy" line has been thrown out to excuse this silence
