Update. Jonah Goldberg pulled down his retweet. But John Fund, the original poster of this fake news (it's the wrong Deborah Ramirez) still has it up. Fund is a columnist for the same magazine as Jonah, the National Review, the flagship magazine of American Conservatism.
To his credit, Fund has now issued a retraction and apology. He should have had Ed Whelan do some Zillow research first, I guess.

I have some personal experience that I'll share here. George Soros destroyed a FB friendship I had with an old high school friend who was a conservative.
I was the only Jewish kid in my rural PA high school. Everyone knew, but it was never a thing. We'd joke around about it, I'd call my Catholic friends various epithets and they'd do the same to me. It was all in good, not-PC fun. It was the early 80s.
I reconnected with one of these people on FB in 2016 and we'd respectfully spar about politics. He was a real right winger, more libertarian than anything else, but I'm pretty sure he voted for Trump.
Sometimes his MAGA FB friends could say pretty nasty things about me on FB comments, and this guy would always rush to my defense. "Hey, I disagree with this guy but he's not the anti-christ. Argue in good faith or get off my page." It was like Zuckerberg's kumbaya dream.
But then I posted something about MAGA anti-semitism and that was it. First came the "but his grandson and grandkids are Jewish!" Then came the "but George Soros really is an evil monster out to destroy the world!"
I politely offered some links to articles pointing out that the Soros narrative was anti-semitic BS...and then, out of nowhere, he blocked me. For good. I'm still blocked. No warning...just blocked, after months of friendly sparring. What is it about George Soros?
