(I still work with him to this day - he’s a client.)
But it wasn’t easy.
Nah.
The first few years?
He gave me feedback that brought me to the brink of tears.
But still I kept showing up.
And I’m glad.
Because he changed my fate.
And the way I play the game of bizness.
Here’s 10 Things He Taught Me:
Criticism stings.
It hurts. Cuts a hole inside you. And leaves you empty inside.
But it’s powerful.
Because hidden inside are small nuggets of gold that you can use to climb to the top of the world.
=
Every time he gave me feedback - it was blunt. And stung. Badly.
At times?
I thought I knew better. And cursed him out inside my head.
But I took his feedback anyway.
And rewrote the copy.
And once we tested it?
It always converted higher.
Not once did he tell me: “Tej, do x.”
He always offered suggestions.
“What if we did y? What are your thoughts?”
And was much more enthusiastic about implementing them.
Personally?
I struggle with this.
Leading and managing people is not easy.
And I need to get better (instead of imposing my will).
The first few sales letters I wrote for him?
Ugly.
Wendy Williams level of ugly.
He chewed em up.
And spat em out.
And destroyed my ego in the process.
“Such crap. Delete the hype. And this BS.”
“Good copy should sound like you’ve discovered something exciting and you’re doing a friend a favor by telling them about it. It shouldn’t sound like you’re selling em.”
4. A 3-step Process For Writing Copy That Pulls In 6-7 Figures
I was clueless.
Never would I invent BIG IDEAS.
Or unique mechanisms.
Or create irresistible offers.
Or know how to flick the internal switch inside someone’s head that takes them from consuming your sales material to pulling out their credit card.

5. You Have To Work Your Fucking Face Off
No matter what time I emailed him - he always hit me back within a few hours (and this was AFTER he was caking it).
“If this guy is making $xxM and he’s grinding like a mad man - what the fuck am I doing poppin’ these bottles when I ain’t nowhere near his calibre?”
6. Train Your People To Become Better Than You
(Something I do sometimes.)
He gave everybody the game.
With one simple goal:
He wanted to make me a better marketer than he was.
100% humility. No ego.
(And when I came close, he told me. And when I fell short, he told me.)
We would put together 1-2 new promotions/ mo.
And most of the time was spent on strategy.
And understanding the market.
And how to cut through the noise.
99% of the battle.
Something most people don’t even think about.
8. Top 5% In Understanding Human Psychology
Most people think they understand humans (myself included).
They don’t.
Sure, they have a baseline understanding, but this shit goes deep.
It’s unreal.
9. The Best Competition Is No Competition
(It shows people are making money.)
But once you want to make a fortune, take a page out of Peter Thiel’s book and go where there is no competition.
By inventing *NEW OPPORTUNITIES*.
How?
By having boatloads of creativity.
10. The More Tests You Run, The More Money You Make
Test more. Fail more. Succeed more.
That’s the motto.
I have written down.
That’s the motto.
That pulled in big bucks.
Daily.
Takeaway:
If we both work 12 hours a day, but you run twice as many tests as me - in one year you will be lifetimes ahead of me. No question.
