I hope my many fellow Trump supporters won't get too mad at me, but I part tactical ways with our President over such things as mocking a woman for her "horse face." I get where he's coming from, and will not stop being one of his faithful followers.
What's more, I really do see the benefit to mockery. I'm studying Alinsky's rules, and we on the right have been far too soft-handed in accepting the destructive agenda of the left. We should mock socialism.
We should mock #NeverTrump Republicans for their wrong-headedness and readiness to join the other side in opposing the #MAGA mandate. Mockery is powerful and it is NOT beneath us to employ it, rather, it is a skill we must master.
Part of the mastery, though, is the ability to draw lines. It is that over which I disagree right now. I'm an old school chivalry fan, and I believe in opening the door for a woman, even Stormy, no matter how wrong-headed she may be.
Yes, mockery is powerful, and needful in its place. Better though, I put forward, is respectful attack. Rather than devaluing the person, I prefer to disagree with the actions, philosophies...the wrong-headedness. I believe in fighting, and fighting hard!
I don't offer this as advice to, or judgement against our president. Rather, I state this for self and those who may consider their own strategies here in the public forum. I vote for respectful attack over mockery, where possible.
Yet, as in any negotiation or combat, there are no weapons I'll take off the table. And, in the world of public discourse, mockery is without doubt one of the most powerful. This, both tactically and strategically, is a debate I think we need to engage.
