This article is distressingly bad. Ellie May O'Hagan's argument that self ID is problem free, when we have *already seen* the horrendous consequences of placing biological males in female prisons reeks of malicious denial.

Her argument that resistance to self ID in this country is born of the US Republican Right is a lie.

Women of the left, of the trade unions, and of the feminist movement are leading the charge. She knows this. Why lie?
All the myths of suicidality and decreased life expectancy - ones that have been debunked time and again - are employed in this article. More lies.

It is the feminist thing to do apparently, to support the right of biological males to define and control women's boundaries.

The ultimate aim - as with everything - is for trans women to compete in women's sports on a self ID basis. With no gatekeeping whatsoever. Because biological males are female if they say so.

I mean that escalated quick, didn't it, from 'We just want to pee in peace.'
In 2019 fight with all your might. Before your daughters have nothing: no safe, sex segregated spaces, no sports, no workable laws to protect them from sex discrimination.

When I first started talking about this issue, my friends scoffed and dismissed me as alarmist when I said
we would have biologically male rapists in women's prisons. The sheer rapidity with which the next frontiers and boundaries are being torn through is frightening.

And it won't stop. What seems alarmist today will be tomorrow's new reality. At what point will you say: enough.

When an ideology lacks coherence and nothing its proponents claim makes any sense, remember ladies to just shut up.

When male people say they are female, but also that there is no such thing as a distinct female sex class, then good girls like Fiona stay quiet and listen.
Fiona doesn't ask inconvenient questions or expect anything to make sense. No. Fiona accepts that her role is to accommodate; to absorb; to defer.

Which is lovely.
And apparently if you do this for long enough, you find none of it's confusing anymore!

Even lovelier. So perhaps then, Fiona, you could explain to me just *how* male people are female if they say so, while at the same time a distinct female sex class does not exist?

For me, the real issue in the #trans #GRA reform is #maleviolence against #female & trans. I note #transmen seem to be absent from discussion. They obvs don't present as #women so don't use women's spaces. But they can't draw attention to themselves as trans because... (1/2)
(2/2) in a male space they would run the risk of attack by men who would see their bodies as still female. I can't find stats on transmen being violent, or female violence on transmen. I guess there will be some, but very small no's. The problem is male violence. #patriarchy...
So we need to be looking at #male #violence and how/why our society raises #boys to think violence is a way of dealing with the world. NB I know this is a generalisation and not all males are violent & not all females are peaceful!

On Monday, I train local women’s refuge workers on trans inclusion. Not for the first time.

In my experience, these women know full well that trans women are at *higher* risk of domestic violence than cis women and need these services

This is why most women’s organisations support including self-IDing trans women (and have done for a while now) and do not support the anti-trans lobby.
