Been away so I missed this. The multiple levels of ridiculous here boggles the mind. It erases vast swaths of the human experience including transgender, intersex, people with intermediate genitalia... It's not ok, and it's not "grounded in science." nytimes.com/2018/10/21/us/…
2/ Medical treatment must be based on the individual to be accurate, and it certainly shouldn't be based simply on external genitalia. EVEN IF you subscribe to the (incorrect) binary, assuming treatment based on external genitalia is a TERRIBLE plan.
3/ A lot of people don't realize is that there's people who aren't trans who have similar challenges. I have a cis woman friend who's body responds largely as male unless she's on birth control. Even within the "binary" there is a spectrum.
4/ Clarification: Many people are claiming this move is for "medical reasons." It is very much not. Medicine based on genitalia is a REALLY bad plan for a lot of people.
