Breathless and misleading front page of the Sunday Times today. The only new thing about it is this is how Number 10 plan to sell a deal the outlines of which were obvious in July, and the negotiation of which was mostly completed last month
I'm not the only person who has noticed the Sunday Times front page in fact contains nothing new with regard to the negotiations with the EU ....
The deal is more or less known (though surprised no mention of UK voluntary alignment with single market rules, that will in effect mostly happen). The question remains at what point will the PM be prepared to take on the ERG wing of her party?
Not enough for Labour anyway - still pushing their fantasy customs union in which we have a say in EU trade deals, and which prevents borders...
Meanwhile in Conservative Home a concern about splitting the conservative party. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I think the horse may bolted on that one a while ago... conservativehome.com/thetorydiary/2…
