Should we feel sorry for Theresa May? Well, whenever I feel my heart softening towards May I recall
1/ the racist go home or face deportation vans she rolled out as Home Secretary.
independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
2/ the fact that as Home Secretary she suppressed nine official reports showing that migration in fact benefits the UK economy and gives a net tax boost. Can't let those pesky facts get in the way of xenophobia after all!

huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/theresa-…
3/ the fact that in 2014 May wrongfully revoked the visas of legitimate non-EU citizens who came here as students, and ordered their deportation.

4/ the fact that May helped shape the Hostile Environment which led to devastation, loss of income, loss of life, among Windrush generation people who came here in good faith. Amber Rudd took the fall for this, but it was May's making.
theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/a…
5/ the fact that May wanted to further expand the Hostile Environment, including using school census data to create a really hostile environment for the children (!!) of illegal immigrants, including denying them school places.
theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/d…
6/ the fact that May, on her own accord, and contradicting people in her own cabinet, said early 2016 that Britain should withdraw from the European convention on human rights regardless of the EU referendum result.
theguardian.com/politics/2016/…
(You know, the EHCR, it only safeguards our rights to a fair trial, freedom from slavery, freedom from torture, right to have your religious beliefs - note the planned Withdrawal agreement does affirm UK's commitment to ECHR)
7/ Oh yes, then there is her voting record as an MP, for an example, see here on LGBTQ+ rights bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/artic…
8/ And then there's the fact that in spite of that, she said the worst thing she's ever done was to run in a field of wheat. /ends
telegraph.co.uk/politics/2017/…
9/ Oh, PS, because so many people pointed it out to me, including victims of this policy: May's minimum earning threshold for British people to bring non-EU spouses made it that at least 15,000 kids grow up seeing mum or dad on (@FamiliesSkype) theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
